Gus is amazing at setting up the infrastructure for prolonged success, but it wasn’t until he left that the panthers did thier thing . Same for the roosters .
Bringing Galvin in has been the catalyst for all kinds of shenanigans at the dogs . Think of all the things that have happened because Gus and Issac and the Galvin family decided to screw over the tigers at that meeting that definitely didn’t happen in January last year.
It’s pretty amazing to see .
I guess dogs culture isn’t what it’s cracked up to be. Nor did I ever think it was . Also the same type of bullshit following Gould from the panthers to the dogs .
I couldn’t be happier . I’m death riding this club into oblivion . The shit Gould pulled with Vella and the Galvin family , especially the Galvin family , after we signed him from being a Harold Matt’s squad player , and gave him the tools to develop , when no other club really was in on him (Gould is a liar about offering him a contract when he was 16 and too small) , I couldn’t be happier that all these scumbags getting some justice . I just hope it continues .

On February 5, Marcus Bai stepped off a plane from Papua New Guinea and walked through the front door of his Gold Coast home expecting good news. His son Cooper had agreed to join the Melbourne Storm.

Cooper Bai basically gets an offer from the Storm. I agree with his dad Marcus, that would be the best option for his development.

It takes the coach, Manager and all the Titans force and will to keep Cooper Bai there.
Right decision for the club, ofcourse.

My point, if Makasini or any of our other juniors have a dad like Marcus Bai... Their dad and family will be walking them to the Storm. Galvin ofcourse had his family walk him to the Bulldogs for a lot less money against his own manager. The top talent will be the "sons of" X legends, we need to convince the parents as well as the players that we are going to be the top training team for the next 20 years.

How? I have no idea.

HUH? You do realise he signed with the titans right ? Also ,maka absolutely loves the tigers , like most players do tbh ,which is so weird to say, and his manager is tartak, who has been steering players towards the tigers ever since benji started to show signs he could actually coach .
He is not a Bula situation . Makasini will leave us one day , probably around 25 , hopefully after we’ve won a couple of premierships m and dominate union for a while , make his bank . But that’s not today , and it won’t be tomorrow . Stop with this shit ..
Also by family I’m assuming you’re referencing the Galvin family??
Had a reputation for being awesome , and definitely was a well liked family apparently …. Never any issues at all .. no issues …amazing you know ….

Gus' success is the biggest myth in Rugby League.

Like you mentioned, the Roosters, Penrith and Warriors all had their success after Gus left. Those clubs struggled for success while Gus was there because gets way to involved in the day to day management and coaching of the time. Look at the difference as Ivan as a coach when Gus was there and when Gus was gone (went from being sacked by Penrith with Gus there to one of the most successful coaches in the history of the game when he was gone).

I feel sorry for Ciraldo, he's a young coach trying to cement himself as a long term coach in the NRL and was doing a great job, but unfortunately lately he's had to deal with the same challenges Ivan and others have had before. The Galvin scenario is the perfect example. Ciraldo didn't want Galvin, had no interest in him and always planned on a Woods-Burton combo for how he wanted to play. Gus and Vella forced Galvin on him and everything that has happened after has been a flow on effect.

That whole Galvin-Gus relationship is a shit show in itself. Helicopter dad hanging out at training and trying to hang out with the players and Gus at the races and golf days.

I too got the feeling that Galvin was forced on Ciraldo and he was not keen on getting him. Looks like the wheels may be falling off the Dogs bus. That game against the dragons showed a complete disconnect across the spine and especially between Galvin and Burton. I don't know how happy burton will be if he is pushed into the Centre's especially with his contract up next year.

Sam Jones, Jim Jones & Ben Harden created the academy pathways at Penrith before Gus got there. They focused a little too much on big boppers for a long period but once they dialled in on their schools program eg Blacktown Patties & St.Doms they started to flourish. Matt Cameron was a failed junior rep coach at Parra but is a fantastic planner & putting these programs together was his bread butter. I am not saying Gus doesn’t deserve some credit but I have seen first hand the work Jim Jones did years before Gus arrived & it bugs me he never seems to get the plaudits

You only need to look at how well Luai played on Saturday to see how much Galvin affected his game last year. I know Galvin left halfway through the year, but the damage was done. Full off season without Galvin getting in the way and things have started very promising.
 
Spoke with someone who recently got back from PNG after spending 13 months working there there had to fly in and out every 3 months because of the visa

They lived in a 5 star hotel compound all locked in if he left the compound he had two security guards with him at all times .

The company he worked for hired a second security company to monitor the first one because the first one took bribes and people got kidnapped

He saw a beheading in Port Moresby during the day he saw people losing limbs in fights and getting mugged losing limbs saw a white guy get sliced open buying the last pack of Weetbix because the local guy wanted them said it was batSh!t Crazy said he could tell me more but unless you see it and live it you won't believe it the vilance can not be put into words

He said when you go outside don't wear Nikes watchers rings necklaces anything in your hair no camera don't take a bag just an ATM card go as basic as you can


And said we should start a pool for the first NRL player or family member to get kidnapped said it will happen just who when and how many

Just crazy he came back lost his wife and suffered PTSD
