At approximate rumoured values I'd have almost a million over the cap this year. Obviously these figures aren't accurate otherwise we would be in breach but hard to see where we night have cap space. Will do a 2027 one a little later and maybe an eels one if I can be bothered but I definitely think we are pretty much maxed out this year. Maybe a little bit of room next year as there are some development contracts that have guaranteed top 30 upgrades attached but if we are upgrading anyone already on decent money then that takes up what is created

What are our big names ?

They have Moses .. we have Luai … Api v Paulo? What’s Longhi on ?

The likes of Jahream and the May brothers aren’t on much this year . $600k odd? . KPP and the Fainu brothers are paid $500k… I don’t think out squad is superior.. AD is paid a pittance… the others would be less than $500?

I would need to know more in regards to whats going on at the Dogs with him before ruling this out. My gut tells me the Dogs are the issue more than Xerri, but thats just a feeling. If that was to be the case, I'd be all for signing him. He was a very good goal kicker as a junior too, I wonder if he has continued practising as it would be handy to have a back up to Doueihi.
Apparently he’s brothers with Kiraz and Hayward and took him to meet his family overseas this offseason. Also good to note benji shares an agent with him

Nothing way out I would think … Taylan $600k, Sione $275k, Jahream $700k, Pole $450k, KPP $550k…. Im surprised still over

But who is available that you'd like us to be linked with?

I think xerri is a horrible fit for us, but hes an example of someone who could become available in a few weeks...

Chances are there will be others throughout the year too.

To be fair our starting centres are out and our replacements are makasini and turuva.. thats pretty good depth in my opinion. This time last year it would have been naden filling in..
To be fair , I love a fit and firing toa , but man he’s just made of glass . You simply can’t allocate the starting centre job to him. It’s bad business. The real issue is Xerri having a sook about moving to the right . But my guess is, it’s much deeper than that . Watching his mates get pushed out , and the room service treatment offered to Galvin , who since he’s got there , they went from the best team in the league to a 500. Team, and the whole team has had to shift to accommodate him, also once again I’ve heard “Galvin is a dickhead” is not just a fan chant .
We are talking about it , reckon the players arnt ? Limited opportunities , halves who crab sideways, limiting space , a system that isn’t much fun to play , uncertainty as to what the future holds . I’m not defending Xerri as I think he should STFU and suck it up , as the dogs were the only club who offered him a second chance , but even that sentiment only goes a certain way. No way if he’s still riding the pine for Inari Tuala …. I mean Tuala … he’s not exactly Mark Gasnier or Steve Renouf , in 4 weeks time would I still be saying suck it up .

So we sign xerri to play for 2 weeks and push him back to Reggie's when both toa and may are back?
Xerri wants to leave because he had to play one game in nsw cup.
If he comes here he wil have to fight for his position... so how's he gonna feel about that?

It just seems like a dumb signing imo
To’a would have to be at his best every single week to even be a chance of being selected ahead of Xerri.

Look mate ..I can’t be bothered now for 2027..,I’m just a fan trying to enjoy this year first ..,the team actually pays people to do this you know ?

Plenty of other clubs have managed it
Not certain this is the case but there was always issues with recruitment when HBG were majority board.

Main issues were leaking to the media and being very slow to move and make decisions [always had to run every tiny thing by the board and board meetings are held once a month].

It's possible we are back to that.

I don’t see the value in signing Xerri when the long term goal should be May and Makisini in the centres permanently from next year.

I’d prefer a winger with Skelton and To’a as depth.

I would only look to sign Xerri the rest of this year …might suit him to let him go next year as a free agent ,,,he is underpaid from what I have heard - $350k per year and still signed at that for 2027

TPAs. Especially for AD, api, Twal , Romey, Masi and Turuva . Also Twal and AD would qualify for the veteran discount , same as Api.
Veteran discounts is capped at 300k total, regardless of how many players qualify. 11.95 is the maximum cap. There's a few other non monetary things that can be added above that, but only TPAs add financial value.

Read and Rocco mentioned on Radio today he’s on 500k+ plus. Wouldn’t mind if it was just for this year and this year only.

2027 centre pairing should be May and Makasini. That 500k would be better spent elsewhere imo

Its poor cap management.

I have no idea why he was extended in August when he was still hampered by a months long injury which still seems an issue 6 months later … if he recovers then fine …when will that be though ? Why is Benji supposedly showing interest in Xerri?
