2027 centre pairing should be May and Makasini. That 500k would be better spent elsewhere imo

No I suggest if we had the opportunity to sign a top quality centre such as Xerri, that we cut our losses on To’a and tell him he is free to leave.
Even if he is getting paid 450k and nobody else would pay anymore than 300k for him, that’s only contributing 150k of his remaining contract to give us a massive upgrade.
Skelton is a must keep and hopefully he re-signs soon.

I would only look to sign Xerri the rest of this year …might suit him to let him go next year as a free agent ,,,he is underpaid from what I have heard - $350k per year and still signed at that for 2027

At 350k if we can get him to end of 2027, I'm taking that.

To’a would have to be at his best every single week to even be a chance of being selected ahead of Xerri.

I’m kinda thinking on the go here … next season they will have Taylan and Maka who Year 2 can probably do a job in the centers after getting some experience on the wing this season … tell Xerri he is free to go next year …might encourage him to play well now for a new contract next season ..Im sure that’s permitted to break the contract if both parties agree

If he was say , off to the bears next season , and needed somewhere in the meantime … that would be an awesome outcome . As I think the Tautua brothers and Tavana will be real close to nrl by this time next year . Even guys like Attard , especially if Bula signs elsewhere and we extend him for the year .

Thought he wanted to leave because of him switching sides, he prefers the To’a side and if we sign him it also frees up Makasini to play wing. Have heard his defence is solid and he’s fast and strong. Could think of worse short term signings like who some seem to alway compare us to the eels and Brian Kelly

It seems to be the high point on his priority list (L center) so even if we signed him with conditions he dont throw his toys out if hes needed in another position...I dunno if thats feasible.
It seems hes limited his options and painted himself into a corner somewhat
