Reminds me a bit of what's happening with Lachlan Ilias, difference is that Bennet identified the fact he is not going to manage the team or deliver them success so he punted him. We persisted with Brooks and whilst it has feathered his nest financially it messed up our team for years. I don't hold a grudge towards Brooks, the reality is we were desperate and could not attract quality halves and he was probably the best we could hope for at the time. I'm just glad it seems that those days will be behind us.So they backed him. He was given opportunity at 6 on numerous occasions. Everyone who played beside Brooks carried the burden for his lack of leadership and decision making and were moved around to accommodate him. He was always backed by coaches and teammates he just never rose to the challenge. He is the same player at Manly - has all the natural ability but rocks and diamonds.
I can bag the club for doing lots of things arse up but can't cop blame for Brooks career.
