Try to see if he can make it in the NFL as a punter next season, if not cash in at PNG. Either way he’d be making stupid money (minimum guaranteed is over $800k USD if he signs to the 52 man squad, or $17.5k per week on practice squad)Just thinking though he isn't playing great. Wondering if dogs chip in or if he takes a pay cut...probably will cash in with PNG
He's a lot bigger than all of our current wingers...I have heard he is going well at Catalans …playing fullback ! The Perth Bears rumoured to have interest ( another one..) …
he is too small for a winger these days ..so wouldn’t have been a fit for for us ,,
Think another club would be desperate/dumb enough to pay overs for Burton, just hope Benji isn't, but if he would take a haircut come on down.Just thinking though he isn't playing great. Wondering if dogs chip in or if he takes a pay cut...probably will cash in with PNG
players are pampered, with all the prof help from dieticians ,mind benders, etc etc.Spoke to someone today with deep experience around professional sport, player finances and the NRL system generally. Came away thinking the whole ecosystem is far more complicated than most fans realise.
The PNG tax issues apparently aren’t straightforward at all from an accounting and structuring perspective.
The player agent system also sounds messy. I didn’t realise clubs effectively deduct agent commissions directly from player payments. It also sounds like agency arrangements can be very difficult for players to exit once signed.
More broadly, the impression I got is that rugby league still operates a bit like cowboy land in parts. Different ownership structures, different incentives and a lot happening behind the scenes that the public never sees.
Everyone still loves the game, but I did leave thinking players are probably not as well looked after as many people assume.
Blore, yea.I would actually still take Blore, Liddle, Laurie and Talau as top 30 members
Everyone talks about To'a missing games he played the second most games from the backs last year 19 But Bula missing moreDone deal: Jahream Bula signs with Wests Tigers until end of 2030
