Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

I wouldn't be letting go of Seyfarth.
He seems a good value contract.

Toa should be first to get the tap.
Royce, I don't mind him but if it meant keeping Samuela, it's a no brainer.

Doesn't seem we have any other big dollar players to ask to leave to make the space.

Need some crafty accounting.
Seyfarth is on 500k next season, he and To'a should be let go of regardless. He was re-signed last season when he was a starting backrower.

He's shown he can't offer anything other than 15mins in the middle... Plenty of other players that can offer that for much less.

It is... He was re-signed early last season when he was thought to be a starting 80min backrower. Was 450k last season going up to 500k this season. All prior to the KPP signing and he was expected to be the long term backrower.
A 500k contract for Seyfarth sounds unrealistic and bizarre.
Even for Wests Tigers fans such as myself who value him as a hard working and loyal bench forward, it’s hard to see any value in him if being paid anymore than 400k as he is not considered as a starting player unless we have 2-3 injuries to our forwards.
In addition to that he does not possess the athleticism required to be a genuine edge back row option and he is best suited as a hard working and reliable substitute middle forward.

He isn't considered a starting player, but he was when he signed that contract. Like i said, it was at the start of last season when he was the right side starting backrower and months before the KPP signing. I was very vocal at the time about the decision to re-sign him and play him on the edge given his terrible lateral movement, poor defensive reads and lack of discipline.

He is a player who we should have let go when he had the chance (warriors a couple years ago). If your best trait across your 6+ year career is that "he tries hard though" then you should be in Cup or Super league, not the NRL. Which is probably why he's been given the tap on the shoulder... It's not even about Alex or his ability, it's about being smart with out roster and the money and what we are paying him and To'a could be much better spent in improving the squad.

He is not on $500k.. the deal was done by your man Richo ..and he ain’t paying him that

$380-400k tops… he might get a bit more at the Perth Bears on a three year deal

No doubt. Was Xerri banned from playing for 4 years? I can't remember, and I know he would have access to stuff Manase wouldn't have, but they are different positions on the field. At the end of the day the club can give him a shot, he'll either be up to it or he won't. I know people on here have said Haywood isn't ready and is in no rush, so I don't see it as blocking him if thats the case.
Spot on, Xerri was out for 4 years & is playing pretty good footy.

Happy that Toa, Hunt & Seyfarth are potentially on the outer, we need better players, Hunt has been good but is ok the tail end of his career, Seyfarth ceiling has always been depth (NSW Cup) Toa played a few good games on 2024 and then completely fell off, he is the most exciting to go, we do need to get some more props though as we are very thin in the backup prop department.

havent read anything so apologies if doubling up

- we dont need to shed anything to sign samuela, deal on the table with latu and samuela are 4 year extensions

- starford has been told he is free to go next year, i said this would happen a few weeks back, tigers even considering tipping in, if we had more depth would push for him to move this year

- club does want to sign two experienced nrl
players next year
Sounds positive , 2 new additions be spot on .
Sam f 4 years sounds good , what is the hold up if deal,on table . Latu 4 years I’m not sold on as he still, hasn’t done much, I’d sign Sam and hold with Latu and let him play FG now for,the rest of year see if he can do it every week with no injury .
Toa told he is free to go is good news , even kicking in some to get it done , but feel we could be stuck with him.

Wonder if Connor's been landed for 27 only, that would give it legs but the report is fishy, released in Queensland.

Bit like hooking a good fish hoping it's a bream only to find it's an ugly rock cod, sucked in.
We are loosing Geyer , Kit and Luke so far so there would be a saving of maybe $ 600 k , then add Toa should be enough to secure Sam F on upgraded deal , Latu deal would not be for more money it can’t be , he is on a reported $ 500 now so if anything drop back to $ 400 then $ 500 he hasn’t earned any of it

Thoughts on Faulolo at Manly? Free to negotiate from end of this year. Can cover multiple positions in the backline and looks to be playing some very good footy. I imagine Manly would be keen to keep him but he looks like he'd be a good get.
