Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Who specifically are you referring to when you say "they"?
Like who in the club is responsible for it? I want names and positions.
If you have watched interviews with Shaun Mielekamp it is no secret that Shannon Gallant and Benji are in control of our recruitment and retention with Shaun overseeing it, but having minimal involvement.
It has also been stated more than once in the past that this is Benji’s preferred option as he previously had disagreements and issues with our last recruitment manager which was Scott Fulton.
Based on these facts, it seems like we either go all in with Benji and allow him to make our recruitment and retention decisions, or if it doesn’t work he is the one to blame and we have to get rid of him.
Although our playing roster is far from perfect at the moment and I suspect we continue to pay too much for our highest paid players who are very good players, but not elite, I believe Benji deserves another couple of years to see if he can get it right.

Benji and Shaun being "too nice" to force him out isnt an issue.
The issue here is it takes three to tango...
WTs .
The player
..the new club.
He cant be forced to.do anything.
The interim.CEOs public persona wouldnt play a.part even if this dis become a thing
Anything is possible.
If Benji and Shaun had a meeting g with Luai and told him we need to use the 2027 season to find out if Latu is our long term answer in the halves, therefore when Latu and Doueihi are both fit to play they will be our NRL halves, I’m sure Luai would get the hint and not want to lower himself to be playing NSW Cup.
Yeah a few other players moght also get upset if this type of decision was made, but anyone who ultimately wants the club tj become highly successful as soon as possible would surely be onboard with it.

How do you know they haven’t ? He still has to agree and it might not suit him

Someone here said it (medical)

T&T...isnt that what we gave Afoa and herbert?
That went well.

I know that automatically doesnt infer Folau will end up the same....but with this club it just seems so short-sighted///like the Mav geyer signing, just a waste of time and doesnt progress us at all imo
Herbert has never been able to defend so we knew what we were getting there
As for Bunty we thought we were getting experience in the pack, we have got someone where nrl has passed them by

As for Izzy, a bit of a concern, Japanese rugby ain't nrl but maybe he is worth a gamble at 37
we dont have too much in nsw cup, tavana is not that good, toa is injured.

They probably thought Herbert would be the fourth or fifth center option and play about half a dozen games …

Luai’s wage in 2027 would’ve been accounted for years ago in the roster planning. Adam is injured a lot so we need him to cover it. He’ll play, talk of moving him on is a nothing burger IMO

Folau was BS

extending toa has nothing to do with signing herbert who can't tackle
the club should have bought better than herbert in the first place

Toa is probably back in the side this week who knows

He was signed on a development deal and got upgraded to the squad a week or so before the season started ,,, assume someone woke up to the fact Toa was a train wreck…
