Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

If you dont care whose fault it is, then dont complain that it never ends.

The only way to stop the hemmoraging is for those accountable to take accountability and relevant action.

By focusing in on Richo, you are unintentionally deflecting from the core issue. Why did he walk away? Why have others walked away? Why is it the same song and dance with different scapegoats? Richo, Pascoe, Ivan, Madge etc etc. Do you not see the pattern here?

Back to the accountability piece.. The club was finally on the right trajectory. Then the board who played their part in this were sacked. We still dont know why. Fans have been abused by directors of certain factions on social media. We have been banned discussing it here. No one has been held accountable. The protection racket seems to extend beyond the debenture system.
Theres nothing HBG can do to satisfy me after last year. As far as im concerned, they are the cancer eating away at our club. No real owners would not constantly reinvest in their flagship team to build toward success longterm, especially as theyre a sporting org that must reinvest into community programmes. Our glorious owners instead of making the Wests Tigers a financial giant with grants every year, leave us on the smell of an oily rag. Were given the bare minimum to kerp us financially viable. HBG recently went lpoking to purchase the Newcastle Jets. They dont give it to us, instead they go looking to buy an a league team. Wests Tigers will never get anywhere with this lot as our owners. Apart from Vegas.

Another struggling club would pay him that or more…so do we let these players go?

I don’t know what the answer is.
Is this Blore?

I keep thinking what Wayne Bennett said "you can loose anyone if you are upgrading".

Seyfarth, Hunt (maybe), Any of our fringe backline. ... We could loose for Blore. I think Seyfarth's money would be comparable.

After seeing the Kane Evans interview, I am so glad the Folau thing got shut down so quickly. The bloke is a hateful bigot, would not have felt comfortable watching him in our colours.
i understand this opinion but also people should be able to have faith and their own opinion. Other religions seem to get a pass and i never thought it was anywhere near as bad as people are committing violent crimes etc but that very rarely gets the heat Izzy recieved.

As to earning potential, I could see that happening for Leilua. Not sure what Chan is on, about 300k is probably about right. But he is also contracted til 2028. Which means either Storm don't want him, in which case I can throw the same argument back at you or he would need to be paid more to get him here.

As for who is the better option right now, Leilua was actually playing very good attacking footy in an awful attacking team before he was injured this year. He hasn't got his spot back due to young guns that are clearly the dragons future securing the spot. His defence can be poor, this year and every year. It is still much better than Chan's. Only Chan is not an attacking threat at all.
Biggest reason I wouldn't want Leilua is he only ever applies himself (fitness wise) in contract years. If you give him a 2 year deal you won't be getting peak performance in that first year.
What do we need in recruits..

THE BIG D.
Anyone we recruit/bring in has to be strong in defense. We leak far too many tries and we have had a stable group. Jake Averillo isn't known as the biggest defender but perhaps an improvement on what we got.

Anyone else we sign, has to be an awesome defender because we can't keep getting wiped out. So huge No to Leilua.

No he's not. He has his beliefs which he he's entitled to
Sure, and we can tell people like Israel F to F-OFF!

Happy to hear Kade Evans:

""Because I was living in denial. From a young age, I knew that I'm gay but I went down every other avenue to build up these walls to be someone … to escape who I am.""

After coming out: ""I'm a bit proud of myself and when I look at myself in the mirror now I'm going to smile and not have those bad thoughts.""

I also note how much Easts went in for him as an ex player.
"He spoke movingly of his old Roosters coach Trent Robinson, who told him the Tricolours would always be his home, and how the club had supported him as he sought mental health treatment."
Apparently Trent even paid for Kade's rent for 4 weeks!

Were talking about a player who played 1-2 seasons and the club looks after him like this. I don't want to cheer the Roosters, but man that's culture.

Meanwhile...every Mosque in Sydney and all over the world preaches the same thing 5 times a day and you're focused on this bloke. Mind boggling.
Focused on him because he was rumoured to be signing for us. And your average pleb doesn't hear about Muslim teachings but they sure as hell saw what he put up on Instagram 7 years ago. You can hate other people all you want just keep it to yourself/your community of like-minded hateful people.

You're a bit closed minded mate.

The woke is strong in this one.

You serious this time or having a lend like usual?

If you have watched interviews with Shaun Mielekamp it is no secret that Shannon Gallant and Benji are in control of our recruitment and retention with Shaun overseeing it, but having minimal involvement.
It has also been stated more than once in the past that this is Benji’s preferred option as he previously had disagreements and issues with our last recruitment manager which was Scott Fulton.
Based on these facts, it seems like we either go all in with Benji and allow him to make our recruitment and retention decisions, or if it doesn’t work he is the one to blame and we have to get rid of him.
Although our playing roster is far from perfect at the moment and I suspect we continue to pay too much for our highest paid players who are very good players, but not elite, I believe Benji deserves another couple of years to see if he can get it right.
The Broncos have a web of 15-20 regional scouts.

Penrith have a country pipeline that extends deep into regional New South Wales.

We have Benji and Shannon, sweet.
