Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

If they want the Magpies to be successful, they might wanna have a look a what the Jets are doing
- actually recruiting and paying decent players.

I think the main aim From those guys is to see Magpies running out - and not the Tigers, that’s it.
They don’t care how it’s run, if it wins or what not.
They just want it to exist
I very much doubt that is the case.
They want to win and rely on the rugby league club staff to spend the money wisely.

If Toa goes and Hunt goes , I’m in for
Alverillo - Right centre , Fullback - arrive now would help. 3/4 year deal
Blore - back up prop - back rower - Melb can have Seyfarth 2 year deal
Luciano - impact prop replaces Hunt - 2 year deal
Billy Walter’s - Hooker , Half , lock , 2 year deal

Like the swap around. However a lot would depend on player and other club willingness. Apart from LL who I think didn’t leave WT in the best of moods, Blore and Walters left on good terms.

Averillo imo is a big improvement for our right centre position. Blore, Leilua and Walters imo will be targets for the expansion teams. I am sure Marshall and Gallant will be discerning when it comes to player signings which improve our squad.

If Matt Eisenhuth could be a part of four premierships, then Alex Seyfarth could win twenty playing for Penrith.

They wouldn't have won 1 with Seytard there. They'd be penalised out of every game and their forward pack would be in rehab from friendly fire tackles. Still don't know how that clown is playing first grade when Twal is sitting out for 6 weeks because of him.

I think our football department does a great job in spending the paltry sum they are given wisely. The issue is the amount we receive, over and above the cap, to run footy operations in comparison to the rest of the competition. Our ladder postion over the last dozen years or so reflects the investment made.

So in other words they want Wests Magpies to fail ?
It just doesn’t make sense.

Makes no real sense why they would under invest in the WT football operations. They are a not for profit so its not like they are paying dividends and need to deliver growth year on year to shareholders. Surely a successful team would be a boon for the club and memberships. From what i understand from a few of the old Magpies supporters that have posted here its not a new thing either.

Literally not what Jolls said
Well it is because of not enough funds are being invested to retain our best junior talent, Wests Magpies will suffer as there will be not enough good quality players filtering through.
Anyone who watched the interview from our former CEO not long after he departed would have heard the words come out of his own mouth that he put a stop to what he called overspending on junior/pathways players.
There was no mention that we are losing players as we don’t have the available funds, just a rugby league club decision to spend it elsewhere.

His comments were related to the kids promised top 30 contracts and getting paid before they had proven themselves or in some cases they proved they are not first grade talent yet we had to give them a contract because it was promised to them a year or two before. There are multiple examples of this and i believe Will Craig is thankfully the last one we will flush through the system.

I know for a fact that Gus is out there poaching the pick of the players and paying them good coin (for a 15 - 18yr old & outside of salary cap) to sign up in the Dogs junior system.

It just doesn’t make sense.
They are the same type of people as Pascoe and Fedora guy. They are more interested in the connections and lifestyle that owning/leading the Wests Tigers provides them. They don't have pride in our performances, only pride in their ability to run in the social circles we enable for them. It's more about the status than anything.

Their priority is keeping their board roles, and if you look at it from this perspective, things make more sense.

Can you name some of them? I want to check out their pedigree ,,,
