Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Peversely, I'm happy to see Foz killing it at Manly this season. But he has benefited from a dream run with injuries, Turbo aside. Their depth is worse than ours. Their reserve grade team is utter filth. They've lost 12 straight. Wests beat them 46-12 today after possibly our worst first half of the year.
Thinking the same, incredibly lucky on the injury front and a reasonable draw as well. Id like to see how they travel, or any NRL team for that matter missing 5 -6 starters.... Copping it from the MSE faithful is the pits. If I hear them tell me about Fozball winning the comp one more time im choking someone out 😉

The only thing Manly have better than us is speed and genuine attacking threat on their edges and out wide.
If you have this, the rest of their team just need to do their job, nothing more nothing less.

I think Bula is a bit of a victim of our teams overall lack of speed...hes easily handled when half chances arrive because the defence hasnt had to work too hard.
Hes been disappointing lately lowest run meters of all fullbacks so far this round
Our.lack of speed compared to probably the fastest team in the comp was extremely evident yesterday.

We really need to recruit some fast outside backs and a big kicker
💯 correct Ink.
Bula’s quality under the high ball, particularly under pressure was brilliant yesterday.
But as you say we need much more from him in attack and I think you have correctly identified that he is not the the type of player who can make something out of nothing on his own, he will capitalise on the quality around him such as he was doing with KPP.
With KPP and Samuela injured and Taylan seemingly playing injured or protecting his injury, we simply do not have the quality on our edges our out wide to bring Bula into the game.

Cheers @BlackWhiteGold
Good effort with the roster info

A possible top 30 for next year?
Releasing players and filling with lower dollar contract players.

1. Jahream Bula
2. Sunia Turuva
3. Jake Averillo
4. Taylan May
5. Heamasi Mamasini
6. Jerome Luai [C]
7. Adam Douihei
8. Terrell May
9. Apisai Koroisau
10. Fonua Pole
11. Samuela Fainu
12. Kai Pearce-Paul
13. Alex Twal

14. Josese Lanyon
15. Sione Fainu
16. Ethan Roberts
17. Alex Seyfarth

18. Patrick Herbert [CTR]
19. Jock Madden [HLF]
20. Latu Fainu [HLF]
21. Jared Heywood [HKR]
22. Javon Andrews [HLF]
23. Tino Tavana [WNG]
24. Jack Attard [FBK]
25. Bunty Afoa [FRF]
26. Haze Dunster [WNG] *
27. Solomone Saukuru [2RF] *
28. Tony Sukkar [2RF] *
29. Shawn Blore [2RF] *
30. Suli Pole [FRF] *
I’d like to keep Toa as a winger over Perham and upgrade Bunty to an experienced tough nut prop
Blore or similar to strengthen the back row I think is good
We definitely need some experience in the forwards

There are very few players that are just genuine dangers.

Koroibete, Nofo (he couldn't tackle, but he could cross the line), Tukali...

outside the tigers:
Jarryd Hayne
Mitchell Latrell...

Even Johnson and Jenkins are underrated.

Makasini is the closest I have seen to being an attacking weapon for us in recent years. Hopefully he improves.
He will . Almost every talent like him that has come through early has plateaued after a big debut and then found their feet .. maka is playing injured , out of position and is often lately in a team that is not going forward and yet he continues to turn up .. our fans that are bagging him and Bula really do not understand the game at all , Bula is having to create opportunity from poor inside passes and to players that the defence is not having any trouble dealing with on his outside .. so he is heavily marked and despite this Bula is really coming into his own . He will be awesome in the next few years

Cup team looked good yesterday.
Still need some first grade calibre signings.

Interesting it was reported Hunt / Starford and Seyfarth were considered surplus.... and 2 from the 3 have been really good the past two weeks.

Haze Dunster is a massive human.
Luke Lualili replacement, I'd say.

1. Jack Attard
2. Haze Dunster
3. Patrick Herbert
4. Fiohiva Faingaa
5. Tino Tavana

Decent cup backline.

Kitt Lualilii [Leaving]
Will Craig [Not re signed]
Tristan Hope [Not re signed]
Charlie Murray [Not sure]
Mav Geyer [Leaving]
Skelton [Unsure]
Saaukuru [Unsure]
Sukkar [Unsure]
Heath Mason [Unsure, probably no contract]
Starford [ ?? ]
Royce Hunt [ ?? ]
Bunty Afoa [ ?? ]

Potentially a lot of OUTS
At least 8 of them we've relied on for first grade this year.

Need some incomings of decent calibre.
