But yeah it doesn't look like it at the moment with the season turning to shit.

He helped push the bro culture, big noting Dhead crap that derailed season 2025 and has run out of steam in 2026.
It is never sustainable as you are currently seeing.
He has played some decent games for us recently but we needed an experienced hard headed leader and he has failed that role spectacularly.

Yes, I have really warmed to the culture over the past 2 weeks. No more high fiving try celebrations, AD pulled off a miracle yesterday and got the reception of a KKK who’d invaded an island hangi !

im starting to like AD his arm shot out to score that try yesterday ,fairly sure he buggered the other 1 doing exactly the same movement ,for his latest set back,but thats brave , he came out of his roll on of setbacks to be wanting more from himself

I gotta tell ya..I’m tired of having low confidence outside backs with bad hands at this club …the money saved won’t matter to me if he is costing us results ,,,maybe he will be the one that turns it around …but they are traits that are hard to overcome …Skelton has played a lot for us this year , so if he is taking his spot we are going to see a bit of him …

It looks highly likely Benji’s first choice back 5 for 2027 will be;
1. Bula
2. Turuva
3. Averillo
4. Taylan May
5. Makasini
** Obviously we do not know how much Makasini will improve by the start of 2027, but I will say his yardage carries last night were as strong as they have been for quite a while and he was a danger with ball in hand, so he did show some good signs despite still missing a couple of tackles that he really should have made.
** The addition of Jake Averillo definitely makes us stronger, but there must be concern on whether Taylan May’s shoulder can stay healthy.
** You would hope we have a combination of at least 2 of Skelton, Junior Tupou and Sol Saukuru as big bodied players who can come in as a winger or centre if either Makasini or Taylan May are out injured or in Makasini’s case possibly not playing as well as expected and we then need to work on cover for Averillo and Turuva. I think we need another player with plenty of speed as an option. I keep saying James Schiller would be ideal as there are certainly not better fringe or back up attacking right sided centre/wingers than him currently available for 2027.

Benji has Api, May, KPP, Sam F, AD, Luai, Turuva and Bula.
Plenty of talent, comparable, if not more so than what Holbrook has.

I reckon the Knights 1-5 is significantly better than ours and significantly faster than ours.
Our halves are somewhat comparable to theirs and when we have Sam Fainu and KPP fit and healthy we have a very competitive back row, but in combination with Twal it is still a slowish back row in comparison to most other NRL teams. That is fine, but we should be adding a back rower with good leg speed off the bench to try and overcome the lack of speed in our starting back row.
Has Dylan Walker already signed for a UK Super League club ?
Someone like him or with a very similar playing style would add a an extra dimension to us as a 13 off the bench.

Id be getting AD into the centres with a licence to roam. That puts turuva back on the wing. Then javon/laui rest of the year with latu at 9.

STOP!

Ok you have two choices:
1. You put AD in the Center. Great he goes there and he should STAY there.
OR
2. You give AD a 'License to roam'.

Center is the worst named position in NRL, really they are 'guards' the players that have to balance the edge defense as if they are out of position your winger now faces a 2-1 overlap.

What happened in the Dragons game? Our center's did not move with our Wingers on our edge defense. Turuva was left guarding a huge overlap and Boom, try!

Either your 5/8, Halfback or Fullback gets to roam and if they do then the team is watching...
Your Center's do not Roam. (case in point, us vs dragons.).

It's pretty much all pain here.
We gave up a winable game around the 70 minute mark.
Api goes down injured and suddenly we have no defense. Api will retire and we will honestly have a team that rivals the Bankstown Centerlink queue for motivation.



At the heart of it, if our team isn't going to train hard all year round. Why are us fans here?
