Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Mick Ennis speculating that Mitch Moses might could be an option for the tigers next year. I think it's just a theory. but we could do with a whinging prick complaining to the refs getting us calls.. also showing our young halves what a real #7 looks like.

Thoughts?

500/1 mate he had his chance a few seasons back and just used us as leverage, plus the eels never let anyone go to us they make that a priority.

Remember after all the trouble with the dicky foot the clauses to escape were taken out of his contract, no chance of a switch.

Well we did offer him a deal 2 years ago and he wasn’t interested. I’d go for the package Teddy or Pappy, Ado Carr and him, to see out their careers back at the Tigers.
And Trent Robinson is an ex Tiger, maybe he’d like a new coaching gig !

Until we fix the major issue with our backline and get some element of speed in our forward pack, it will not matter who we have in our halves.
We are the only team in the NRL who is unable to shift the ball wide and at least threaten to make a line break as we have no speed and very minimal tackle break ability.
I’m no fan of Bula as a fullback on 900k maybe more, his true value is a 250k fringe NRL winger, but he at least has the speed to capitalise if we can stretch the opposition.
We are missing Taylan May, but he relies much more on power and a bit of footwork than he does speed,
Makasini will likely be our preferred option on the left wing and although he has been struggling badly defensively at left centre, he is showing some good signs with his yardage carries, particularly for an 18y.o who should be bigger, stronger and better in 2027.
Tgat being said a left sided combo of Taylan May and Makasini doesn’t have much speed about them, so will be reliant on plenty of tackle breaks.
Jake Averillo will add some desperately needed speed, but from a defensive point of view a right side combination of he and Turuva do not look overly strong and the lack of height between them is a problem with aerial threats.
Never the less if all of those 4 are fit and healthy it’s a decent t 2-5, but still definitely not top 10 in the NRL.
The bigger issue is our depth to cover these players and apply genuine pressure to their positions.

Before we fix this list of complaints, can we play at a proper home ground? Like Leichhardt?

Not next year as we are getting a major redevelopment so we can fit 17,000 supporters in.
Regardless we will get better results and better crowds at Campbelltown if we get a team that is capable of scoring more than 1 or 2 flukey tries each game.
In addition to that have you got any objections to my initial complaint list?
There is much more to come.

20k at Leichhardt pal. Do you make things up as you go?

I love Leichhardt Oval, but IF we do become a successful team, we will have 10 to 15 thousand fans missing out on watching us play live at Leichhardt Oval due to the limited capacity.
History has proven we don't get 30 or 35k at the big grounds unless it is a special round.

People attend Leichhardt because they love the place. You simply can't put a 35k seat stadium in Mary Street.

Before you respond to this, think first, check with facts, think again...if it passes these tests, I'll read your response. Please don't just say stuff for the sake of replying.

They have put together a TEMU ground redesign which could have quite easily incorporated another 5,000 seats.
Otherwise they coukd have started all over again on the massive parkland space behind the ground.

Ok. I didn't know you were a stadium developer. Tell us more please.

Besides, you said with 20k people will miss out. If they add another 5k, how does that address your initial complaint?

With Luai leaving and Hunt potentially off to Super League, we're probably going to have over 1 million in salary cap available in 2027.

Perfect time to address that 20-30 spot depth which has been really come back to bite this year with all the injuries. A prop or two should be at the top of the list.
No, we need to sign better players for our starting line-up, which then makes our current starters bench players and backups.
We have a squad full of players who are backup quality. That's the bloody problem. No one who can break the line, be an attacking threat. Not only can't they attack, they can't defend either.

Wins vs Losses at Leichardt
2024: 3/5
2025: 2/3
2026: 3/3

Meanwhile we are like 4 wins from the last 21 at Campbelltown? Its more than just a coincidence. It isn't a Balmain vs Wests thing either. Most ppl have an with the Lidcombe Wests brigade, not the McArthur side. Its just a crap place to play that the players obviously feel no connection with. Numbers speak volumes.

We are doomed next year without leichardt. Should be 4 games at Campbelltown and the rest at CommBank.

With the attitude most of the team played with tonight, they were not winning even at Leichhardt with a 10-1 penalty count in our favour.

Even just looking at the tunnel as the players were getting ready to walk out Ctown stadium looked like an absolute crap hole.
If somehow they can get the money to burn the current stadium to the ground and build a new state of the art stadium then, and maybe only then, might both the players and fans show up there.
Currently it's Iike playing at a small town ground.
Everyone hates being at that stadium and it shows. There's no love there. Leichhardt is also a crap hole in many regards, but it's also full of spirit and love, and this gets us home more otten than not.

I love Campbelltown Stadium. The ground doesn't make the team win or lose. The players do. I wish they'd pick 1 ground, I do not care where, and make it a home ground. And wear the bloody home jersey at home games, for goodness sake. What a joke our club is. No home ground, no home jersey, and fans that crap on other fans because of the ground the game is played at.
