Tino Tavana needs a sprint and strength coach this off season.

I think the whole backline could do with that, need to increase our speed !

Does it matter?

Sure we have our junior team and little kids who play for the Berala Bears or whatever have a club logo on their shirt.
We have Api and AD or whoever's bored do some training with them occasionally at Lidcombe oval.

They leave, they stay... It doesn't matter that much. The key point is that the 'junior' has some positive association with the club.

Ideally we have the next GI, Cronk and Payne Haas stay with this club from Juniors to 35. It ain't happening, people will move around. It's actually a good thing as the guys experience other coaches and different playing techniques.

Far more important is that the experience here is quality and that way when their contract comes up for renewal, we get a sympathetic lookin.


Ofcourse I want the next GI to stay at our club forever. It won't happen, so who we get in our orbit make it a quality experience.

I don't think you have the full context. It seems to matter to all the people that wanted to dive in and correct me about a list of pathways players I listed....in response to Vicious saying we neglect the South West...they wanted to argue about them not being "real" juniors.

My simple question is, how do we define a junior and how do we define a pathways player? It seems to matter to these people so let's define it.

Once we do that, we can verify his comment about neglect against the other clubs pathwats and see if it has any merit.

I am not going tj spell it out to you, but there are plenty of South-West juniors and a few Balmain District juniors currently playing NRL for other clubs.
I understand not every local junior is going to work out and every club has some of their local juniors playing at other NRL clubs, but if we are fair dinkum about winning over the South-West we need to focus on it and ensure we keep a much higher percentage of NRL players from that region with us than what we currently are.
It’s called attachment by identity and it’s very important for Wests Tigers potential future success.

I was at the 2023 and 2025 GF as my wife is a fanatical Bronco’s supporter.
I have been an assistant coach in teams that have produced NRL players,played alongside people who went on to become NRL players and have had family members that have played NRL, what about youself?

Multiple ranging from u/7’s up to u/19’s I don’t think it’s required to name the clubs, but they were in the Balmain District and one in the Canterbury district.

Assistant means assist the coach and was all I wanted as I did not want to over commit myself due to time constraints I have with work and family etc.
I’ve also coached soccer/football at high levels in the Sydney NPL and likewise opted to be an assistant for the same reasons.

Mate im not sure what you are getting at. You made a list separating the Balmain and Magpie juniors, I simply pointed out that 2 players on your magpie list were Balmain. I didnt mean any more or less that that simple point.
