Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

No, he was trained properly in a successful system.
There is no way in hell he becomes the James Tedesco he is now had he stayed here.

No doubt thats the case for some. Not disputing that, but Tedesco was Tedesco. He was a freak at the Tigers and didnt develop any further at the Roosters other than natural improvement that came with experience. His style meant he was always gonna end up the way he did. He was a workhorse, tackle busting player. His catch pass went backwards at the Roosters, but in later years his short kicking game and some ball playing improved. There is nothing you can point to to say the Roosters made Tedesco who he is and has been. He was always on that path and well and truly proved that at the Tigers setting up many wingers for tries and playing Origin

Big Tuku Tapuha had a very good game for the Jets v Dragons in NSW Cup today and at age 24 with a good sprinkling of NRL games behind him and a few solid seasons of NSW Cup to help him toughen up, I’d say he is ready to become a more regular part of the NRL top 17 at some club from 2027 onwards.
Is he on our radar? Apologies had a mental health break from the forum and the pods and maybe out of the loop

I haven’t heard of him being linked to us, but Shaun Mielekamp has recently stated all recruitment and retention is supposed to be kept in house, so ideally none of us should really know who we are targeting.

Nope, he was a hog here who occasionally set others up, more often than not backing himself first on almost every run.
He became a ballplaying fullback and strengthened every other part of his game - including his durability at Roosters.
His path would have had a far lower ceiling if he stayed.

Hahahahaha thats the opposite. On many occasions his catch and pass set up tries for our wingers and that actually went backwards at the Roosters. He improved as a player in time through natural development with age and experience. But a significant part of his game disappeared and went backwards at the Roosters.
Just bad coaching.

We have a choice. Recruit decent players. Every single other club does it. For some reason we keep thinking we'll be able to turn trash into treasure. But no, trash is trash
We don’t have a lot of choices . The club front office has been a disaster for years, always a drama. Good player won’t come here u less they get 20-30% overs, if your going to be loser you gotta get paid , solid players don’t want play cup in front of 26 people. Reality of being crap for too long.

What exactly does "shutdown" mean?
Injury I am assuming. Hope it's for a couple of months so Benji can trial some alternatives.
Otherwise Benji sticks with the same old I suspect.
Well mate, considering his arm is hanging on by sticky tape I’d say tit means they are putting him on for shoulder surgery so he is right for the pre season.. would also mean Bula has chose to take surgery over playing in the World Cup which suggests he chose his employer and the wests tigers near season over individual rep honours ?
