I agree the question is whether Doueihi is suited to that role. A lot of the best teams have the smaller, more dynamic type in the position. Murray, Cotter, Watson types. Doueihi doesn't exactly fit that mould.

I think Doueihi would be quite unique in the #13 role but it's up to him & his intent. He could provide a combination of a hard, straight running forward who can break tackles & offload combined as a second #1 who can float and provide a sweeper. He's got the arsenal, it's whether he has the commitment & resolve to become a lock.

He is certainly not in the same category when it comes to the toughness and defensive resolve of the likes of Cameron Murray and Reuben Cotter, but they generally play 80 minutes each game.
You would hope if Doueihi is initially asked to play this role for 40mins each game with a scope of increasing his minutes if his warrants it, he could be up to the task defensively and when playing on the front foot there is no question that he is a dynamic ball runner.

Not much on the market and sounds like the kids are a few years off so I think we have to try it with Doueihi. If we are genuinely pursuing Mann that would tell you how Benji sees it.

Part of me thinks maybe our best bet is to go all-in on 6 Javon Andrews 7 Latu Fainu with an experienced 13 to help them with direction & leadership. This could be a rotational combo of Doeuihi with Kurt Mann.

If AD departs, then bring in O'Sullivan as another experienced back-up half along with Madden to be a mentor as well. Then have a lock rotation of Mann/Twal/Seyfarth/Brailey.
