Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

One poor game doesn’t make someone a bad player.
Our team lacks x-factor and until we fix that major problem, we will become a genuine contender no matter how solid our team is.
Bula showed some good signs in our last couple of games, but whether he will ever have the required x-factor is a big mark.
What about when I was suggesting Herbie Farnworth as our million dollar player a couple of years back instead of focusing on Bula as our marquee player,
Was you one of the many who tried to argue that spending 1 million on Bula instead of head hunting a player like Farnworth who was earning nowhere near 1 million per season for the Broncos back then.
Farnworth has stated that he is very happy with how things are at the Dolphins. You have to choose your target and I don't believe Farnworth would want to come to WTs.

In which case we probably have signed him.
With our luck this year with injuriesi think you may be right. Apparently someone mentioned that during the year Walker called Benji for advice as to whether he should play on next year. For the life of me though i cant remember where i saw it. Maybe the same pod.

Not now he wouldn’t.
If we offered him over 1 million dollars 2-3 years back when he was earning around 600k it could have been a very different story.

Have done an absolutly remarkable job only being in first grade for 4 years or so now.
They have put together a great team that is perfectly suited to PVL football. Their forwards are fast and extremely mobile and defensively effective and their backline is full of speed and explosive skills. They remind me a tad of Tigers 2005.

We should be using them as a model when recruiting and developing players because our current roster struggles with the skills required to play PVL football

It's more than just dollars. Living in Brisbane is very appealing. Imagine owning a Queenslander in West End or a nice property at Kangaroo Pt. Adjusting to the pace of life in Sydney, the traffic, the cost-of-living including finding a property is difficult. This is more so if you are in a relationship with a Brisbane woman. I don't believe a move to Sydney would be feasible.

You were pushing for Herbie when he was a bronco insted of Bula ?

I dont remember that

It's ironic they've been criticisms of mates being hired for the coaching positions and now the club advertises for a coaching position and there have been criticisms of this action. It seems the club cannot win.

The criticism is the unprofessional fashion they are going about advertising the position. You aren’t getting serious applicants on LinkedIn

Every other club head hunts assistants through their managers

He will be playing fullback for the Roosters in 2028
