I don't know why I bother , you try and put words into other people's mouth .....I never mentioned the 80s and never claimed winning 12 to 10 .....but you continue to crap on

Are the Knights known to be a good defensive team, or much better known for their attack?
You are shooting yourself in the foot as the Knights are proof that an attack minded team can have the mindset to defend very well in big games, off the back of the confidence they have in their attacking ability.
Opposing teams cannot condense their defence against the Knights like they djjagainsg us as they know the Knights have the speed and class to score long range tries.
Like I said earlier, if a defensive minded 5/8 was the answer, the Panthers would not have offloaded Jack Cole.

He's been here throughout the last 7 years .....we've been attacking maestros with him haven't we .....

Who gets rid of one of their best performed players without having a better replacement in mind?
Do you know what Doueihi’s issues were?
You are assuming he spat the dummy because he didn’t want to play 13.
He has already come out and denied that was the reason.
We sure have a lot of fans who love making assumptions without really knowing the backstory to what they are commenting on.
We tried having a defensive minded team with no speed or attacking ability somewhere around 2018.
The season I am talking about saw us play some of the most boring rugby league ever seen, surely you don’t want a repeat of that?

Douehei defence isn't up to it, he won't cope with the workload , and I know this shouldn't matter but he doesn't want to play lock

We had the worse defence in the NRL and you then want to move a player to a position that would make us the worst in the NRL in that position ....madness mate

No . I want to put a player in his best position to thrive . The fact there’s a whole bunch of yea buts … is the reason I want to get rid of him .
The guy is 195cm 100kg . For me at that size , if you can’t defend 1 position in , then the juice is not worth the squeeze .
Thats simply not a good enough argument , as anyone with any football knowledge can see he’s not quite dynamic enough for centre , doesn’t have the necessary ball skills for halves , and isn’t fast enough for fullback . Which leaves edge back row , if he wants the ball in scoring positions or lock if he wants to have a say on dictating the play .
I honestly don’t understand the counter argument . Its nrl .

AD is not a half moving forward (when I say half I mean both) . And only the staunchest super fans can’t see it . It’s a natural progression especially for bigger halves . Fittler , Daley , Sutton , Campese , bird , Lewis , Smith , all moved to lock as they closed down the 30yo marker.
His limitations are soo transparent and such aan anchor around the teams neck , that his positives can’t ever outdo it . I don’t care how many solo tries he scores , when we are only scoring collectively 2.5 tries a game .

He looked elite at 6 during that period we were winning games before he got injured . That my point, which i think cannot be argued.
He must have of had a big preseaon to be able to have that form.

The issue is now that with his injury woes and his "I am a leader" that walks out on his mates make him untenable for most clubs at the price he wants. If he is to move on it has to be on his terms or we will be paying freight, and I suspect a lot of it.

I suspect that we are stuck with him. @Lestronge was right in his post above about his poor passing and run selection killing his outside backs despite his early season form so him remaining in the halves is not on and it would also undermine team discipline (and probably morale). Moving him back to centre simply exposes his defence more and he will go back to being good for 12 points a match for the opposition.

AD is a great athlete and does some great things, but leadership and team first are not on that list, along with a short passing game and kick control. What he does posses is a size, strength, the ability to break/bend the line, a good cutout pass (when he wants), a long but uncontrolled kick, and a me first attitude. His only option to save his career is to move into the backrow, make a fist of it, and put some substance behind the statement that he will play anywhere for the team. As a backrower his ability to break a tackle and bend are assets. His run selection will be dictated primarily by the halves so less chance of the outside men freezing to death on a cold winters night in Cambo.

If he can't get his body and attitude right for the contact he will make a good backup centre in Cup where he will have the time to develop a team first attitude. IF he is out of the headlines and given strict guidance on what he needs to do (be part of a team) he can languish there for the next three years and watch others surpass him. It is only when he is faced with that prospect that I see him making the choice to move on; which is what we need from him.
