Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

You don’t get it, no defence will be good enough without speed and attacking ability that can stretch and worry the opposing defence.
It’s no longer the 1930’s where team full of grinders can consistently win games.
The best form of defence is attack, in case you haven’t noticed that’s the style of play that is getting decent results as proven in the 2026 season by both the Knights and Dolphins.
The Knights grinded their way to a grand final on the back of their defence.

I’d sat the video footage is the starting point to determine if there is interest.

I Don't need to
- I noticed you deflect to other players I didn't mention rather than checking your stats?
(There's a shock)

By the Ramble above - We're assuming Schiller is such a player for you?
Again, His history is hardly enough to make such assumptions.

Show me a decent sample size of Schiller playing top grade at Centre.
Actually, You can't - So don't bother with that...
Or replying with a ramble that heads on a totally different tangent.

I'm not alone in recognising you don't know your arse from your elbow.
Show me a sample of the likes of Cody Walker, and Jahrome Hughes etc playing NRL before the age of 24.
Plenty of good quality players spend quite a bit of tine playing Reserve Grade stuck behind some very good players in their same position before they end up getting regular NRL opportunities.
When talking about signing fringe players, there is not a lot of options that have previously played 1 or 2 good quality NRL games and are not ready for the old age pension, so common sense would tell you if you can get players that have previously shown they are capable at NRL level and are still only in their mid 20’s or younger, they are very shrewd depth signings.
Based on your theory of signing no depth players, we end up with the same results we did in 2026, do you like losing?

Only on the finals.
They got tj the finals on the back of their attack.
Does that sound familiar?
You will find the Wests Tigers 2095 Premiership winning team was similarly very attack minded and their defence clicked on the finals.
Defence is a mindset and when a team is highly confident good effort when defending will likely lead to points down the other end, the defence generally improves because of it.
On the flip side when a team is defending well week after week, but not getting rewarded with any points down the other end, the defensive resolve ends up fading and they start leaking points, does that sound familiar?
Not only the capability of scoring points, but just the capability of making line breaks hurts the opposing teams attack as they are zapping energy and losing field position every time they defend a long line break.

Check your facts.
I am talking about his whole career, not just one injury riddled season.
What are you arguing about, are you happy with Patrick Herbert and Tino Tavana as our first players called up for our right sided outside backs?
Surely you want someone better who has the physical attributes to threaten and worry decent to good opposition at NRL level?
Schiller I watch alot at the Raiders he's better than Tavana and Herbert he's an upgrade for the team but not a superstar that some people want he's reminds me a little like a Jason Moodie solid good player we go good at the Tiger's

Exactly.
Some of our supporters expect superstars as fringe players, obviously not understanding there is a Salary Cap to work with and not understanding the need for speed and line breaking ability within our team.

And there he goes, set your watch to it.

Ask him to clarify NRL experience at centre for James Schiller and get a summary on Cody Walker and Jahrome Hughes (and a heap of other ramblings)

You talk shit, get called out in it - just own it man, will help you look less stupid.

News Flash Super Coach

Replacing reserve graders with other reserve graders doesn't help win NRL Games.
Don't talk about winning - You've got zero idea on how that happens.

Your facts again shoot you in the foot

Two of the 5 highest scoring games in NRL history are from the 1930s
