Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

I'm told Heath Mason is a product of a disjointed Wests Tigers pathways system.

With no consistent fundamentals or club-wide style of play, he arrived in first grade underprepared, and the coaches had to spend time fixing problems that should never have reached the NRL. He's a talented kid and there's still a place for him at the club. He just needs some work.
Great take…

Heath isn’t the only junior our pathways system has let down…

Sounds like the potential appointment of Crawly has identified our pathways short comings.at least I hope.

Mathew Betsy was in charge for ages and doesn’t look like he set the pathways kids up for success.

Bringing Wests and Balmain juniors together, kids needed to be taught the system that first grade plays…so when called upon they know the calls and their roles in the team Etc.

I hope Heath is given a chance to develop his game.was played way before he was ready..

Ive heard on a couple of pods, that Godinet went backwards this year, can anyone comfirm or deny this. Also he isnt big enough this year, maybe BWG can you let me know your thoughts on him..
Yeah he wasn’t as dominant as previous seasons and hard to put a finger on it. Godinet has the tools, just needs to be involved more and really hone in on effort areas that the modern day backrower needs. His goal line defence was found out at times too but that will come with strength & specific training in that area. If the club’s development coaching is fair dinkum, this kid should come on in leaps & bounds with another pre-season.

He sounds like he is lazy…

He probably should never have played first grade yet. He's not NRL standard.

He maybe get there but he's still a long way away. He wasted a year playing fullback this season. He's not a fullback.

We do not have a system at the club. That's the first issue. Everything is just off the cuff, there is no planning or strategy involved.

He was definitely sub par this season. His sg ball season was incredibly disappointing, a few times he only had 1-2 runs in the entire match. For a player with big wraps and involved in an NRL preseason, effort is not just desirable, it's mandatory. Sure the play may have targeted the other side of the field a bit, but players who want to dominate lower grades go get the ball and make things happen. He just caught a cold waiting for someone to pass him the ball out wide.

You add in his small frame and he will always be Targeted in defence, especially on the goal line. There aren't many forwards in the been his size, which is why we need to be patient with him. He needs to fill out and learn how to use his skill set. He still has potential but he needs to command the ball and want to be the difference maker that he was when playing 16 year olds.

He showed glimpses, but every club has talented juniors who are busting their asses. He's busy spending time running coaching tutorials with kids and on insta, but doesn't seem to apply the same determination to his own game.

It's a huge offseason for him and I'm hopeful he rips in!

Is he short or is he a bit skinny? Maybe he’s more suited to centre than edge and there he won’t be targeted as bad
