@ said:is Lolohea a given? I'm hearing very mixed reports as his asking price was up around 800K/season. I've heard we are looking at Greg Eastwood/Aiden Guerra to bolster our 2nd row options as well. Any truth to this or just piss and wind by the media?
@ said:What about Gagai as a fullback option? I'm hearing he looks set to sign with South's but I'm surprised his name hasn't been tossed up as a potential FB option for us.

Lawrence has been very good IMO. His work rate is good, he runs and hits hard in defence. He takes the tough runs when Woods doesn't. I have no problem with Lawrence shifting to the right and starting in the backrow next year. He will go even better with quicker play the balls from Packer and Matulino.
People will turn their nose up at this, but Lawrence is a better right side player than left. I have always said he is suited to the right and IMO this was proved a few years ago. We started the year with Rowdy left centre and Simona right. Both were struggling. As soon as they swapped sides both players had an instant improvemnet in form. I have no idea why Lawrence has been stuck on the left his whole career.
Personally, Elijah Taylor is the guy i would start off the bench. We need a big middle early. Lawrence and McQueen in the backrow, Packer, Matulino and Alioai in the middle. Taylor comes on for Alioai at 20 minute mark to play the rest of the game.
The only problem Lawrence has had is some dropped balls, everything else he has been very good.

Yeah I've wrote this before it's really annoying when people write he won't leave Newcastle now they'll write he's going to Souths…I'm hating Cleary atm he's not trying to get a good fullback he just wants a solid one..when we buy a crap fullback and by the looks of it we will ...everyone will be crying next year..to win the comp you need a classy fullback history tells us this and Cleary gunna get some nuffs nuffs cheap and say well we've got two crappy players now instead of one good one horay for his tight ass ways

@ said:I don't understand why Tyrone Roberts name is not thrown up more often as a possible recruitment for 2018.
He has the ability to play numerous positions, pretty fair goal kicker, no nonsense player, who won't cost the earth,is only 26, solid clubman.
So there's your fullback and goal kicker, with plenty of money left in the cap to still get other signings on board.
For his versatility alone, he is great value for money, and lastly allows the club a chance to be able to compete in the market if Lolohea really believes he has a future in North Queensland.
@ said:Could certainly do a lot worse than Tyrone.
