Conor McGregor is the Irish MMA fighter…Connor Watson is the Roosters utility. We apparrently tried to get him but the Roosters won't release him (and he's under contract until the end of 2018).

I'm not sold on Watson. Any young half would look good in the Roosters side. Hastings looked good a couple years ago, now he's languishing in reserve grade at Manly.

I agree mate.

Watched both Watson and Gordon live in the city v country game. In that environment, Gordon one of the best in that game and Watson struggled. I'd still take Gordon for a season but probably not even on the radar now that Tui has come over.

first time in forever i was able to watch every single game in a round and these young guys really impressed me:

joseph tapine
ryan matterson
jordan kahu
adam elliott
angus crichton

i'd be happy with any of these signings

I really don't see what people see in Kahu. To me he's slow, hesitant, prone to a bungle, quite ineffective in early tackles. We already have Nofo on one wing, if we were going to buy a winger/fullback cover I'd want him to be fast as possible, I don't want plodders on both sides.

Yes he starts for the Broncos but Broncos always field these types of players to balance out the salary cap, cheaper backline options. It's the same reason why blokes like Lachlan Maranta and Steve Michaels have put on a Broncos jersey.

i agree on Kahu but what's wrong with offering Gordon a one year deal?
Gordon will be looking foe a fullback spot and he and Lolohea can compete for it, imo.
He has been great at the back for the Roosters this year. and with Teddy going there , he'll be out of a fullback job. Plus he can goalkick. Even if he plays half a season for us in 2018 at $300k. I see this as good value compared to other fullbacks in the comp.

*note i'd still prefer Dylan Edwards or Hoppa. but at this stage in the jigsaw that is the Salary Cap an offer to Gordon isn't going to hinder a big signing.
