More chance of getting Cameron Smith, Boyd Cordner, Billy Slater and James Maloney as package deals than Nathan Cleary is what I think…

That maybe right but Cleary would be stupid to take up their offer. Penrith know in a year or 2 he is a million+ a season player. I'm sure Ivan would be advising him to hold off for at least a year and make Penrith sweat.

Possibly why our recruitment has stalled of late, as we're waiting for the storm to happen. 2 regular first grade front rowers, a strike second rower and a backup fullback would be nice IC

Facebook confirming Rochow signed for 2 years.
Not sure how accurate.

FIRST ON NRL Rumours & Updates

I've received mail Robbie Rochow has signed with the Wests Tigers on a 2 year deal starting in 2018.

The source who revealed this information also revealed him signing with the Rabbitohs in 2017.

📝Is this a good signing for the Tigers?

And it would be sweet revenge by Ivan on Gould … make Penrith pay up $1m+ per season. Who knows the Rorters might sign Nathan up.

You are usually on the money. I hope u r right.

Here's a question for the dads out there re Nathan Cleary. Hypothetically, if you were a coach in a grand final and your son was on the opposition team, and your son had never won a GF, deep down who would you really want to win? Personally i would want my son to win the grand final more then myself.

Whether or not he even would considered coming to the Tigers why would young Cleary sign a contract for that period and for that money ! No flies on Gould that is for sure ,if Clearys career keeps rising and being a competent goal kicker at the end of his current 2 year contract his starting price would be $1 million a season at the minimum, I am sure his father will give him the right advice ,Gould is not dealing with fools in this case !

I think the tigers would be the last place he would go. It would only take a few ordinary games for people to say he's in the side because he's the coaches son.

You're probably right..it would be a conflict of interest plus the kids today don't always want to hang with there dads like the kids of yesteryear.

I'd want my son to win as well, but I would do everything I could to get my team right and ready to win.

That way if my team loses and my son wins he and I will both know he earnt it.

The cynic in means screams that Mitchell Pearce's career won't last forever and you never know when you walk into Padstow Macdonalds if a brown paper bag is waiting for you on the seat.

I seem to recall the NRL got on the front foot anticipating this by requiring clubs over the salary cap to submit a management plan detailing how they propose to become cap compliant. I hope this includes transferring top talent to WTS.

Not sure I understand the rules then - on fox it also stated and I quote:

“The NRL will give them to a certain point in time, it will be sometime later next year, where they have to be cap compliant. The Dogs will work to be under that cap.

“If it gets to it and the players have been unable to be moved on — this is just a theory — the NRL won’t register Kieran Foran or Aaron Woods or possibly both.

How can you play for a team if you are not registered? If for e.g. the Dogs do not have to be cap compliant until sometime later next year that means Woods and Forun will have been playing for them when they are over the cap - i.e. RORTING …. Will they be fined for that?

Supposedly the NRL will not register Woods and Forun until Dogs prove they are under the cap... Does that mean they will be playing the first half of next year unregistered? Free to renegotiate because Dogs are not compliant? Sounds like a scenario going around in circles.

Surely the NRL (as incompetent as they are) have to set a cap figure for next year before the season starts!!!!!

It will be some time early next year before the season starts. So they can train with the team over the off season and will be paid by the bulldogs from November when their contracts start but if the bulldogs aren't under by say February 1st they won't be registered and can't play.

Sorry i'm new to all of this, what do you guys mean we need players with depth??? Whats depth in nrl terms
