Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Benji would be a smart move, great marketing tool, probably better than any other 6 or 7 we have on our books for next year and can kick goals. Not sure if he would stand up to the rigours of 26 rounds of NRL, but I think well managed he could do a job for us.

As for Rockow, would not be my choice, but to get 30 contracted players on your books under the salary cap you can not sign 30 super stars and your looking at about 10 quality reserve graders that can step up a grade when required and I guess thats where Rockow is. To me he is in the same class as Edwards

Yes please!

After everything we've been through, this would be a huge boost for the fans and the club.
He will bring 2000 extra people to games.
He will be a beacon for the masses to cheer around.
And it will the deserved finish for our Messiah

Benji for depth would be OK.

We're a little short in the halves and there's not much going around in the market (assuming Cronk will retire.) Benji even at his age is an upgrade on the likes of Drinkwater, Rankin and JLJ. Anything that puts pressure on Brooks and Reynolds is a plus IMO. As long as we're not promising first grade and he understands he'll have to work for it I am OK with it.

Opening the door to Benji, a hopefully matured humble professional who has learned from his mistakes… okay, why not. Purely for a promotional purpose like Idris was.

But let me make it very Very clear... everything as it is, we cannot re-open the door to Robbie and before anyone even hints at it, NO. (Who knows how situations may change in the future, but absolutely definitely Not Now.)

Massive yes from me. his experience alone would be invaluable. At potentially 200-300k that's a bargain for a guy who's in form and arguably our best player since the merger. Given Brooks and Reynolds are both prone to injuries he'd be a perfect back up. Have a look at our back up half over the past 2 years…..JLJ lol. Imagine being in a position should injury occur/or bad form and we had Benji to throw in. He'd be handy to have in team to help push along Brooks as well and help transform his game. At worst he improves a very ordinary ISP side that we currently have running around.

Robbie has blown up his bridges here with C4.

out of 357 pages of possibilities and signings, Benji coming home is the one I would actually be excited for.

As already mentioned, he'd be an upgrade on JLJ, Rankin etc. I'd actually look to play him at fullback or in the centres. His days as a half are probably done. He's looking leaner these days. Doesn't look to be carrying the extra weight.

Brining Benji back would be the smartest move the club would make in a long time ,everybody loves Benji corporates .. fans .. supporters . With the hammy brothers in 7 & 6 he will also get plenty of game time and fullback is good for thought.Benjis swan song a semi finals campaign I say bring him home!

Can't believe I'm saying this but i would have Benji back. I wanted him gone in 2013 but times change.

He played for 100K this year and I really admire that. There is no more prime donna in him. He has been knocked around.

We have very unreliable halves next year in Reynolds and Brooks and Benji could be better then both. At least he should be thinking that way.

He won't command top dollar and he would give the club plenty of value in terms of memberships and atmosphere.

I say yes to a 1 year deal.

And it's a "yes" for me as well. Much loved on and off the field, we could really do with some good-will atm. On realistic money, and for the right reasons, what's not to like?

Not adverse to the idea of bringing back Benji given how he has played of late when called into the Broncos side, of course as others have already stated at the right price. Would be great for the TIgers PR machine to bring back Benji as he was such a crowd favourite with the fans.

All my family members are beside themselves after I messaged them this.

I'm happy to see them happy.

I'd Rather Benji than Littlejohn if that was the choice to be made.

I just don't want the Benji of old to return - I like "humble QLD cup" Benji a whole lot more than "Tries too hard and passes the ball into the stands" Benji.

Under no circumstances make him a focal point of the team.

Brooks will be under the pump with Benj breathing down his neck. Offer him a better contract than Brisbane and give him an ambassador role when he finishes up and we have the perfect deal. Our greatest player of all time despite his lapses, come on Ivan, put us in fantasyland just this once.

Hasn't Benji been playing in the halves with Gamble in Q Cup? Both are easily an upgrade on our current back ups and I wouldn't be averse to either one of them stepping up to NRL should the need arise.
Would Gladly take him back for the right price - if the Broncos are paying $100k then offer $200k and he's got a job in the club when he's done.
Would be nice to see him running around with his little brother in Tigers colours too!

Thoughts on signing Chris Grevsmuhl as he has been released by the Titans. He is good mates with Chris McQueen and has obviously had issues outside of football over the last 12 months but looked good on occasions when at Souths & Penrith. Would come at a reasonable price one would think.
