Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

I find Cronk to the Roosters a strange move. They are looking pretty shallow on prop depth behind JWH and Napa starting. Tetevano will come off the bench and it looks like they'll have to play probably Liu as part of the prop rotation. That's at full strength too, if they get hit by injuries Taukeiaho is probably going to be shifting to prop with Butcher to lock.

Their halves are not a weakness, it just seems they can't resist the lure of a marquee signing.

Roosters lost Guerra, SKD, Watson, Kane Evans maybe Pearce and replaced them with Tedesco and maybe Cronk.
They have players to come in to replace them in Manu, Butcher, Matterson, Radley. They don’t play by the same rules roster management is first class.

They have plenty of 2nd rowers and depth in the outside backs but my point was they have a glaring lack of depth in the front row and they've done nothing to address it. It won't be first class roster management if they start struggling for go forward later in the season or burn out JWH or Napa by playing them 60 minutes week in week out.

Especially after the limp way they exited the semis. Their big men were easily out-muscled.

does anyone know what tim simona is doing now

Welcome to the forum. He is most likely still trying to avoid going to prison.

There was some talk a while back he was going to play for West Harbour

Pretty sure the union bosses said they will abide by his league ban and squashed the idea

Will be interesting to see how the disciplined Cronk fits in with the Eastern Suburbs set not sure it will work. Certainly can't see him at the Sharks . It has to work both on and off the field.

Cronk has bought a home in Mosman (which would suit him- he looks like a Mosman guy) . Mosman and the North shore types are a different type of rich guy to the Eastern Suburbs set. Anasta is soo Eastern Suburbs .
Having said that it’s very quick access from Mosman into the Bridge and into WestsTigers territory

Come on Tigerdon….that's just not right! I'm not sure where Anasta grew up or what shaped him as a person (nor do I care). But I must take offence on behalf of the Eastern Suburbs region when you hold Bwaith up as a typical Eastern Suburbs person.
Now, I hate the Rorters as much as anyone here, but Anasta has to be the all time worst excuse for an NRL player and definitely the biggest waste of time as a Wests Tigers player in History (and that's saying something coz we have recruited some DUDS over the years).

I don't rate Leilua, because he's always a brain explosion waiting to happen.

He's ferocious on the field, but i've seen him cost the Raiders a lot - more and more other teams also seem to know how to get under his skin and set him off.

He also typifies downhill skier as well - looks great when the raiders are flogging someone, however when it's a tough game can't pull his head in.

Nathan Brown is an example of a hot head who's learned how to chill out. These days nothing seems to phase the guy. Commendable stuff.

Won't help when JWH inevitably spends a handful of weeks on the sideline either injured or suspended.

Ryan Matterson's dad is Paul Matterson who also played for the Chooks in 1986 … and yes Terry Matterson who played for the Chooks and Bronco's is Ryan's uncle.

Ethan Bullemor,
Looks like a very good Backrower prospect, sign him up on a development contract Tigers!
Currently plays juniors with Norths Devils and Rugby for his school. Queenslander, but they can't have them all,
This kid has a lot of Angus Crihten In him.

Ethan is a boarder from Rockhampton, Queensland, and started at Nudgee College in Year 11\. Like many boarders, he takes advantage of the Reach for the Stars academic tutoring program, which runs four evenings a week and provides staff and tutors to help boarders with their homework, assignments and study.

Ethan is a talented rugby player and this year is vice-captain of the college 1st XV.

“My ultimate goal is to have a career in the NRL or be a professional sportsman,” Ethan said. “But it’s also really important to get through to university and come out with a degree. I am interested in the law pathway.

“I don’t like to set just one goal. I would like to be the best I can be in all things, school, sport and as a person.”

Why not just get Angus Crichton who has knocked back Souff's offer to extend his deal..

Hmm…. I wonder if front rowers don't like playing 60 minutes week in week out? We seem to be building a strong rotation not a strong starting 3....
Anyway Roosters want to max out their cap. GREAT, ok who have they got that we might want. I think we could push for Napa or JWH just to make cap trouble for them.
