Penrith seem to be experiencing some issues between players and coach so I would focus on Cleary and Merrin signatures. Pass on Ben Barba

The shortcomings in our squad have been clear all along - we haven't recruited any speed, fullback and hooker/DH have big questions on them, we have no goal kicker and we are short a top quality centre or winger.
We do however have a squad with good depth and we seem to be on the right path with a new found culture and attitude. We will have to wait and see if this step in the right direction is enough to win more games.

If Lolo isn't starting , we've got 5 days to find a kicker , we are going to struggle for points as it is and without a 1st string kicker who can knock around 80% of the goals needed things just get far harder with our run ahead

Sounded like a bs rumour. Didn't even sound like Barba had talked with Flanagan.

King Gutho. I reckon we should offer some good $$ to lure Clint Gutherson from Parra from 2019 onwards. They are stocked with French, Hayne and Gutho. I doubt he would be on big money at Parra and there were whispers about him going back to manly but they have Turbo. 750k/year early release from 2019\. :laughing:
I think we should be watching players like Alex Brimson (Titans), Sione Katoa (Sharks) and Greg Leleisiuao (Eels) very closely in the early rounds and be prepared to make good money offers for them. Do the same thing that the Storm did to us with Addo-Carr if they show promise. We need strike power in the backs and they look like players that may deliver it. Newcastle have already managed to get in early and snare Jesse Ramien who is another I would've had on the watch list.

To the player who misses out on fullback at Eels, if we reach out to them and offer them the fullback role here, then maybe they might be tempted to break their current contract.
