Coote is a better fullback than anyone we have and it’s not close.

Yes it is.

I hope Tui kills it and Coote is not considered but at this stage Coote is a class above. Good kicker, positionally good and safe and is a second 5/8 in attack. Agree to disagree.

I’m getting more and more depressed when I access this forum.
It’s like a scene from the movie ‘When Harry Met Sally’.. “I’ll have what she’s having”, main because we can or we feel we need to splurge.
We want to knock off another club’s contracted players, we want ‘what everyone else has’ .. for what?
Lachlan Coote? … oh the memories. Ahhh, the memories ... Lachlan Coote in his prime at Penrith and still competitive in his early days at the Cowboys .. BUT ... fast forward, it’s 2018 and Lachland Coote is in his twilight years and riddled with injuries .. are we just desperate or plain dumb?
Sit back, take a chill pill, relax, at least wait on til tomorrow night. We have our very own contracted fullback who has youth on his side, blistering speed off the mark and X-Factor to boot!
Tui has spent the off season under our most respected fullback of all-time (Brett Hodgson).
I believe Tui can be the equal of Tedesco with some confidence.
Let’s cultivate our own backyard and focus on the big picture - players who bring their undoubted skills and longevity not looking for retirement contributions.
We still have 2 positions vacant: we need a hot goal kicker and a strong centre with size and speed.
I would hazard to say we need a good halfback but maybe, just maybe Brooks will come good - maybe, maybe, maybe not. Maybe he will just do for 2018.
Ivan has coerced quality players to the tigers during the off season. We don’t need to reenact the Pied Piper and attract all the rats!
If Tui doesn’t work out then I’ll eat my words.

Tui

Well said.

Yes, well said. The season hasn't started and we're not desperate…...yet....

Did you mean 'write' him off?

Just saying it takes a lot mentally to pick your self up from a game like that. Especially when a lot of people are already questioning why he's not on the wing. It wasn't just the drop balls but positionally caught out a few times also.

Robbie Rochow is our new heighno. I loved heighno and was upset that he left, amongst all the players that had to due to salary cap. Alot of people forget that after we won in 2005 we had to or just did let half of that team go. At the time i could never understand it. Ben Galea to pom land after i saw him pick up and throw a player down when he had the ball. Do you all remember him? Massive part of 2005.

I want Tui to be Tui but like me he is fat. He did nothing today except miss a kick from in front and kick one to win. Harsh, Yes but if i had his life i would be trying harder. If he gets dropped next week i wouldn't be annoyed

Souths supporters believe RF could be going to the Raiders.

With Sue, Nofoaluma and a few other talents in the ISP how long do you think it will be before the vultures come circling? Cleary has it got it right because Sue and Nofoaluma have areas of their games to work on. I'd like to see JJ in our top side though.

6 years ago i would have been happy to have Coote in the team 50 years ago i would have been happy to have Keith Barnes but it is 2018 and both of them are well past their "use by date" as good as they were

Thoughts on Luke Garner getting a chance in the NRL this year if he plays well?

Some highlights from 2017 in a busted team.

Sounds like one of those rumours that's always going to gather momentum because it makes too much sense. Farah has always been tight with Ricky Stewart, the Raiders are down their first-choice hooker for two-thirds of the season and I know for a fact the Raiders were in for Farah when he first became available (he didn't want to leave Sydney at the time, but if he wants to play he might have to reconsider). Raiders even like a playmaking hooker and don't have anything in the halves to worry about.

Only issue is the Raisers are cap-strapped so far as I'm aware. Souths would have to pay a fair whack of freight, irony of ironies.

A lot to like about him. He has excellent post contact metres and seems a very good defender. Apparently Hodgo has big wraps on him.

If true it shows that the coaches have clearly marked fullback as the spot most in need. Who else is off contract at the end of the season?

We do need a gun #1 and a goal kicker at present.

If Tui becomes that guy then thats great
