According to that beacon of misinformation (the lurker) we are supposed to be signing that Newcastle winger next season also, what's his name…..oh yeah Nathan Ross. I'd take it with a grain if salt tho.

Hope not very overated player and certainly past his best

Pretty sure Lurker gets his rumours from us. If it doesn’t come from TT or The Pom then it’s unlikely.

Just read that Gold Coast are gonna go hard after Izzy.

Gareth Breenan believes he's the type of player you build your team around.

We need a fullback and I reckon you got the best fullback in Rugby League/Union available right now… we also have the $ and the position spot up for grabs

Thoughts?

He is on something like 2 Million per year playing union including his wallaby $$. Doubt we will see him in the NRL.

Didn't know that was the figure, if so would be unlikely…..

But Rugby Union in Australia is dying very quickly imo

You build your team around an overpriced 30 year old back that hasn't played League for the best part of a decade?
Titans can have him.

Surely they learned their lesson with Hayne…

I’d love the kid isaako from the broncos. He’s off contract and apparently two Sydney teams have offered him a contract. I hope it’s us. Can kick to as we saw last weekend …..

Yeah he goes well at fullback too, he'd be a very handy pickup as a goal kicking back.

He was at Cronulla and when he was 16 was traning with the NRL squad the Broncos offed him 120K Cronulla did not match the offer so he went to Brisbane

According to Uncle Wayne at the presser last week "he called us up and said he wanted to come to the Broncos".

I didn't believe it was really like that but nice self-serving narrative from the horsies.

Garbage written article ….but we get the gist !

"Sportingnews.com reports the four way trade would see Faraj join the Rabbitohs"

they're not even trying.

ByronBayFan loves the green….he will be elated!

Go check the Chookpen. There is hope of picking up a minor bargain buy in Cohen Hess.

Also a thread on needing outside backs. One statement about WTs having great depth in Nofo, Milne and Fonua. Perhaps also hoping to pick up a bargain buy leaving a million or two in the salary cap.

Minor bargain buy in Cohen Hess? Yeah fair enough, roosters are probably looking at Cameron Smith and Thurston as back up

Cowboys would not let Cohen Hess leave.

Have plenty of money with JT retirement and Bolton and Scott nearing the ends of their careers. Coote also might be told to move on.

There seems to be a lot of talk on here about signing more outside backs. To me it seem we have plenty of depth in this area considering the guys playing reserve grade. I think we might need a specialist fullback, but I still think Tui deserve a good crack…. he could be great.

What i think we are in desperate need of is a couple of quality second rowers who can run a line. Unfortunately I don't think we will score many points while Lawrence (hands like feet) and Rochow are our back rowers. Our best years were with Gareth Ellis and Simon Dwyer. We need a couple of players in the Gillett, Cordner, Crichton, Kafusi, Hess mould.

Not sure where you find them.......

We have depth, but limited impact. We need to look for high impact edge players (centres & backrowers), wingers, and fullbacks. Players that can break the line. Marsters has a good offload, but has usually been stopped when he offloads.

We need our quickest player (Thommo) lurking near our best offloader (Esan),

Unless were talking someone fantastic, I don't see the point. We have a lot of B grade back. Unless RTS, Fergussion, Israel or someone really good is on the radar we should not bother IMHO.
I think we really need another impact second row type and I think our weakness is there with McQueen not coming back. Manly may want to offload Taupau, Thompson or someone else. But with Curtis and other injuries they might hold on. Cowboys or Parramatta may have some strong second row guys looking for a chance. Alex Twal, who did you fear at Parra?

I think our best decisions were made for us by Woods, Tedesco and Moses. Johns and perhaps others thought the splitting of Moses and Brooks would take the Moses' career to a much higher level. Funny how things work out and I don't believe it is any coincidence Brooks' play has improved with Marshall back beside him. In fact, I don't believe it is any coincidence Marshall is back besides Brooks. Cleary is a fine coach.

PS. Do you believe Moses' extroverted personality would allow him to play second fiddle to Marshall?

It was an April Fools joke.

They need a tougher captain. Tim Mannah is a nice bloke and has been playing well for them but they need a hard head to knock blokes like Moses into line. Beau Scott a few years ago would have been the man to do it but he wouldn't get enough respect from them now with his form the way it is. Brad Arthur needs to start taking personalities into account with his signings and bring some professionals in.
