For a year or so if he wanted to id take Luke. Would consider 2 max, definitely no more.

He is still one of the premier hookers and offers pace around the ruck. I doubt he would come to us though and id say parra will throw the kitchen sink at him, but the roosters/sharks will somehow have the $$$ to make a play

Agreed. Luke is probably what Cleary is looking for. Good passer and can advance the ball. Might be a good partner if Liddle is willing to learn and wait a year.

LIchaa is what we should NOT be looking at. The Bulldogs were a top 4 team, till they signed Lichaa and Mbye over Hodkinson and Ennis. The idea that Lichaa is playing better now that he is free of Des, is silly. The dogs are doing far worse then us and Lichaa is a part of the problem. Lichaa can't pass, he can run, he isn't first grade. Us signing Mbye is a big risk, he never really has developed at the dogs. To have 3/4 of the bulldogs failed spine is just an Absolute joke. We might as well hire Ben Barba to boost our team culture.

Is Cleary looking for a hooker..?

Something wrong with him if he isnt.
Liddle is fragile and will never play 80 mins every week and we basically have noone else nrl standard.

That is just a load of malarki - no other word for it.

Give Jacob a full off season to build up and he will be a 80 minute player, he just had 2 full shoulder reco's,.
I'd like to see how you stand up to NRL level after the same operations.
He's just like Benji when he first started, they need to grow in to their bodies.
See how he goes next season, I bet he will kill them.

Hope he proves me wrong.

Just read that article quoting Ivan saying that we've got one spot left.
That looks like it would be Farah.
But if not I'm hoping for garner but we've probably got enough second rowers in the 30

Watching Dragons /eagles game is there any traction with the Brian Kelly rumour ?as the kid can play and young.

I gather from what's been posted by those with some inside knowledge that we were close but Manly turned around and exercised a club option for 2019 at the last minute. Nobody's yet said it's dead in the water but given his recent form it's hard to see Manly agreeing to release him for next year…

Liddle is the next 5 year project, taking over from Brooks, we may just over rate our juniors, or persist where other teams just cut theirs loose after a year of no return, either way, the 5 year wait is just ridiculous

Most clubs don't throw a bunch of 18-20 year old into first grade, they are given time to develop. We don't have the talent to delay the introduction of youngsters and allow them to develop their strength and their game.

That's nonsense. All teams use young players, even in key positions. Using young (and thus cheap) players is the best way of getting value out of your salary cap.

Cameron Munster took over fullback for Melbourne at 20\. Nathan Cleary debuted at 18 and has been the Panthers' half ever since. Kalyn Ponga is 20 now. Tom Trbojevic is 21 and has played 60+ first grade games.

Also, FWIW there actually aren't any 18-20 year olds in the Tigers side. Liddle, Twal and Marsters are all 21\. What's your evidence that the Tigers are routinely putting players in first grade earlier than other clubs?

There was a quote from Cleary in small article in the Sunday Tele where he suggested we were looking to sign a couple of former players.

Ive also seen a report of another player being looked at.

Farah the obvious one but who besides Woods could another former player be?

Anyone from england ?

At this stage I would take Woods back. At least someone will bloody make meters !!

FWIW. Hearing Cleary has a meeting tonight with tigers management at 6pm to finalise two more signings before June 30, one being Farah the other hearing It’s Rona( not sure about that one because we know the past with Rona)
