Dennis Bendall…...and Neil Pringle more great Tigers players from that era

Anyone for Gary Spears? Pretty intimidating second row with Spears and Grant.

What about Steve "Stopper" Lavers!!

Gary Jack.
BTW Pringle was better than Pearce

Sure Mate! :unamused: - that's why he had so many representative honours.

Just to clarify - I did see both of them play for most of their first grade games.

I appreciate a good history lesson on Balmain, but can we start another thread on that please, and leave this strictly to the thread topic?

That seems to be a trend on here when things on signing front goes quiet.
By the way some of those "young guns" signings we are making are rather impressive. Our junior teams this year have been abysmal.

I think we really have to look to our players that the club see's as FG early next season- is Gamble a 5/8 and if so give him a go and work him in with reynolds next year. The dogs are seeing real talent coming thru with some young players and i hope that we can see the same from players that we have identified

Please not Gamble, he was horrible against Canberra. He's not worth taking Brooks or Reynolds or even Benji out of the team for.

I think Gamble has been unfairly portrayed, he was thrown to the lions against the Raiders and got no support during the game as the team fractured right across the park.
He needs a 2nd chance at some stage, remember he came here with Benji’s recommendation.

Nah. It's all accurate.
Nothing special in ISP either.

End of 2020.

So how likely are we to sign him?

If Nathan is asking for big coin they may need to move some recent signings on to accommodate him.

Safe to say we aren't getting Nathan?

Too early to rule out I think Demps. The POM reckons we'll see a bit more on the signing front when the season is over - which is fair enough. Suffice to say we need about 4 signings to get us up to where we need to be, and then there may be a couple of ISP signings to follow.

Ivan seems to heave been on a big youth drive. Need it.

Tall lad! 6ft3

Sounds like a good prospect - fulltime training with the top squad in the off-season will be a challenge for him but it sounds like he still has some growing to do.

On the same page it says that Logen Dillon has signed with WestsTigers as well:

MapSports Logen Dillon has agreed to terms with the Wests Tigers for the next 2 seasons. Dillon who starrred for the Canterbury Bulldogs SG Ball team in 2018, where he was top 10 in most key statistics; Tries - 1st (14); Line Breaks - 1st (14); Run Metres - 2nd (1743m); Runs - 9th (126); Tackle Breaks - 9th (52); Line Break Assists - 10th (7), as the Bulldogs stormed their way into the SG Ball Grand Final, losing to eventual National 18's Champions, Penrith Panthers.
Dillon, made the move seeking an opportunity to develop his preferred position at fullback where that wasn't going to present itself at his junior club.
"I met with the Dogs and they said my future at the club was on the wing, and although I appreciated that feedback I feel I can take my game to another level if given the entire field to inject myself into. I would have liked to stay, but it wasn't to be." Dillon remarked.
Wests Tigers were estatic to land the sought after player, considering the standout season he had in 2018, "We watched Logen for most the year, through the Schools program and he was outstanding. He throws himself into every game and competes on everything. I think he had 8 games of around 150m and 3 games where he ran for over 200m this year. It's not like he just started doing it either, he has amassed 21 tries in a short junior career of 23 games in Matts and SG Ball. We are very excited to have his talents on board and look forward to working with him to develop his skills and education around the fullback role where we think he has real promise."

pleasing to see Ivan is looking to the future and not just the present in regards to signings

Dave Warwick is the one who should get the credit for these signings ?

New development players? Seems we've signed up a few young ones over last few weeks.
