@ said:What a sad and sorry thread this has become in the last few days.
Why aren't we being kept informed? Why aren't we making plays for big-name players?
For starters, nobody here knows exactly who we are and arent making a play for.
Secondly, any expectations that we might be signing good players within days of the end of our season are high to unrealistic. We already signed Mbye early and I just don't get how many Mbye-type players people expect to sign every year.
The team is 1 place off the finals. It's very realistic that the exact same roster can continue to improve (since 2017) and make the finals. Sure a quality footballer or two would help, but I get the impression some folks are too absorbed with the last-round hammering, completely ignoring we comprehensively defeated the same side about 6 weeks earlier - i.e. it can be done.
But the comments about "being informed" - do you not remember years gone by where we were linked to every footballer off contract, and then you got disappointed because most of those didn't pan out?
Who cares if Tevita Pangai toured Newcastle and were werent mentioned. That doesn't mean anything. Those same journos had Pangai verbally committing to Broncos just a few weeks back - i.e. journos are regularly wrong and thing change rapidly in footy.
Just such an alarm from some people and the offseason is 3 days old. I'm not saying "be patient", because you obv arent patient, just be realistic about how long the offseason is and what us possible wrt recruitment.
i cant believe ur comments, HOW MANY MBYE TYPE PLAYERS DO U EXPECT TO SIGN EVERY YEAR. well considering we have let heaps of player go, i would have thought 2-3 and a couple more just below his range. no wonder the clubs got no ambition if they think like u.
