How was Ivan's body language when commenting on Matterson signing with us?

Great

He was thinking how he could take Matterson in 2021 to the Panthers along with Packer ,Matulino , Mbye ,Farah ,Reynolds and Thompson

He can take some now if he likes, Benji, Aloiai, Rochow, Eisunhuth, and McQueen can head to the foot of the mountains now.

Cmon he ain't that stupid

He only wants to take Marsters with him. There’s a baggage limit on the Panthers Shuttle Bus.

Centre and prop are the next two areas that need attention given the players we've lost from this year's squad. Who would people be happy with that we might realistically get at centre for 2019?
- Brian Kelly may still be a possibility depending on who comes in as coach at Manly
- O'Neill, Linnett and Javid Bowen are all off contract at the Cowboys
- The Dragons might look to move on Lafai or Aitken to free up cap space with the emergence of Lomax (although that would probably be a bit premature on their part)
- Justin Olam or Cheyse Blair are stuck as depth players at the Storm
- George and Robert Jennings are both still off contract
- Tyrell Fuimaono is off contract at Souths

Any other possibilities? Feki looks unlikely to me given the Sharks have lost a bit of depth in their backs with Leutele, Lee and Ramien going and only Morris and Xerri coming in.

I'd be happy enough with Kelly, Lafai (highly unlikely) or Robert Jennings as left side players if we could land any of them for 2019\. Alternatively maybe go for some cheap first grade experience in Cheyse Blair for 2019 and then go after someone like Braidon Burns (or some other emerging centre) for 2020.

**[Wests Tigers Head Coach Ivan Cleary said he looked forward to working with Matterson.\
\
"Ryan is a talented young man and we're very pleased to have him join the club next season," said Cleary./b]\
\
Does that quote from Ivan kind of kill off Ryan’s rumour ?**

**Ahhh yes, but did he say what club he was pleased to have him join? Will they look forward to working with each other as Panthers? And did Ivan's left eye twitch when he said it?**

So think this is what we have so far? We still need at least one quality outside back and one quality prop.

Manly have cap issues

Was looking at rejoining the Rabbits but I dont think they will have the money

Looks like he wants out of Manly

Only 24 years old and might finally mature on and off the field

Can play both Centre and 5/8
Which is a bonus if Reynolds and Marshall struggle next year

He may be a bit of a niggler and get under other players skin but that can work to our advantage

Has plenty of experience and can still improve

Has pace which we lack

Wouldn't cost the earth

We have issues if Oliver Clark makes our Top 17

Luke Garner > Oliver Clark

Terepo could be the real X Factor , bit of speed and power off the bench

He's under contract (re-signed earlier this year) and unlikely to be released given his form at the back end of this year.

I'd take him to play centre only because we don't have anybody better, not 5/8\. And what happened to him? He was almost the best centre in the NRL last year and he's just been so quiet this year.

Agree great centre, crap five eighth, but he is a right centre, so is Marsters

I doubt that Dylan Walker fits into the culture Ivan and the club want to build.Living on the northern beaches i have heard many rumours about him as a person,it dosent mean they are accurate but he did leave souffs under a cloud as well so i am dubious at the very least about him being value to the club

A couple of good targets being mentioned. Some are even realistic which is nice.

I, like others, think we are a centre and prop away from improving our 2018 starting 17\. C'mon Ivan sign first graders so you don't have to waste 6 months figuring out "who our best 17" is. I defended you when you said that the first time but we need stability next year.

Also someone mentioned wing being a weakness. Is a CT and Nofo combination good enough to make the 8?

Yes imo as we all of our success this year came from grit and passion, IMO both of these guys showed those attributes.

I dont know how close he is to his sister but no doubt it would have played with his mind this year
Alot of negative activity aimed in his direction
It could be a massive wake up call for him
If he can focus on his football it may just help him get through the hard times he would have been going through
He has the talent
He just needs to focus and use that talent for the good
His best years of football are ahead of him
The ball is in his court to turn it all around
A new club with a new culture may just help
The question is
Does he want to change for the better
