Yep, we're being kept in the dark like mushrooms. Just when it felt we were building something up the wheels come off the bus. Frustrating as it appears we have plenty of cap space to strengthen the squad.

I regret to inform you that you will always be kept in the dark when it comes to club recruitment plans, unless you become employed by the Wests Tigers or become a player manager.

I realise that, I was more talking about the general situation with the coach/club.

I understood what you meant Helmesy. Some people are just on the warpath. You wont get far expressing an opinion that the club is going backwards during this Cleary thing however there are many of us who think the same as you.

Yeah it would be nice to share an opinion without getting hammered

Good post patriot

Storm are currently trying to extend Munster & NAS, neither will be cheap so tough to fit in the cap even with Slater's money becoming available
I'd be hoping we go hard for both, you never know if they may come up short or if they have to throw all their eggs in the one basket
It's interesting to look at the Storm roster on zero tackle and you see why they are so successful. They don't let the players that they want come off contract. All the 2018 contract expiries are either unproven players I guess they are prepared to lose or year to year great like Billy & Cam
Munster & NAS are end 2019 which is as out of contract as their guns seem to get

Munster has already stated that he will only play for one of three teams - Storm, Roosters or Sharks, so we’re Nellie no chance I’m afraid. Just another example of elite players only wanting to play with other elite players. Alas the strong clubs only get stronger.

Not real bright limiting your market potential like that…got a link to where he said that?

Napa would be good, i could see Newcastle going after him as well as us.

Well, I for one hope the Knights get him.

He'd be useless for us.

So getting a hard running, hard hitting, intimidating front rower is surplus to our needs? Wow!

One who brain snaps far too often, gives away cheap penalties and spends far too much time in the sin bin…..YES.

That type of player would be surplus to our needs.

We need someone who will intimidate and bend a defensive line. I’d take his brain snaps because he would fill a gap and bring something we currently need in spades

Lol yeah say no to a QLD and premiership prop who still has his best years ahead of him and most forwards prefer to run away from.

Seriously Napa is a penthouse prop compared to our basement current props. If we have a chance we should go hard for him.

Would take him over Marty easily.

We're very picky arnt we?

Napa averaged 7.1 runs for 76m this year and roughly 21 tackles per game with 2.5 missed. He only ran for over 100m twice. Not good for a prop. The average hit ups and run metres are almost the same as Packer had this year but with less tackles made at worse tackle efficiency. I would not want to see both Packer and Napa in the same team.

We do need a big, aggressive prop but we need one who gets through some work in attack. JWH was the prop that did that for the Roosters this year, not Dylan Napa.

Matterson is a good example of what we should do with recruitment. Players looking for a starting job behind good players.
We may have some luck with players like Kurt Capewell, Euan Aitken, Jack Hetherington, Joe Ofehengaue, Christian Welch, Sam Kasiano, Tyrell Faumino etc. Good players that get limited opportunity and will back themselves against our roster to win jobs.

Everyone who comes on here leaves themselves open to getting hammered for sharing their opinions. The nature of a forum.

The rest of these are decent but Sam Kasiano is not good anymore.

Kasiano is well past it.

Christian Welch is the stand out in my opinion.
