So far the rumours are Coen Hess, James Fisher Harris, Manu Mau, Jack Wighton Musgrove and Shaun Johnson. It sounds like guessing to me on who’s off contract in 2019.

If we get rid of Mcqueen and ET we will have 4 spots up for grabs.

Lock in Hess, Fisher Harris, Wighton, Mau for me. And while we are at it a swap of ET and Reynolds for Shaun Johnson.

:arrow_right: Hess + Fisher-Harris + Mau would really bolster our pack. All provide intimidation and high energy impact in games which is what we are lacking at the moment.

:arrow_right: Wighton and Marsters in the centres would be pretty dangerous.

If we bought these 4 players, I'd be a happy man. I know Hess wasn't in the best form this year, but Nth Qld were duds all over the park, so he's in similar company. Can't read too much into it imo.

dont get me wrong i would love these players too, but where the hell do u think this is ever going to happen, we have a 10,0000 to 1 chance of landing hess or fisher- harris or even wrighton. so why torture ur selve by putting them in a tigers team. iam just been realistic, not bagging u at all.


Relax mate…I think you've taken my post out of context. I never said it was going to happen, nor did I give a statistical analysis on the likelihood of it happening as you so kindly did (btw, the comma is in the wrong spot :wink: ).

The post said it was a rumour and I like to dream that there is some truth to the rumour. If by torture myself you mean getting my hopes up? don't worry. I'm old enough not to do that.

The truth is, I like reading and commenting on signings suggestions and rumours which is why I'm in the "Signing Suggestions & **Rumours** THREAD".

Why not ask the MODS to make a "Realistic & Guaranteed Signings Thread" for you?

If you know something I don't know about these players to be so sure that we don't have a shot, just speak up and debunk the rumour. Always good to hear inside information and the other side of the coin.

In all seriousness, I'm not bagging you either, but if you take issue with chatter about rumours, realistic or otherwise, you're in the wrong place my friend.

On Gamble, he looked good in ISP this year with a competent halves partner. When Drinkwater left for the Super League it was like Gamble lost a leg. Didn't help that when he debuted the whole team phoned it in so he had plenty of friends that day. I suppose it all hinges on what Madge wants at the end of the day.

People don't seem to realise this. Gamble went from a running five eighth to having to do all the organising. He isn't a natural halfback, but was being asked to play as one.

It's similar to when the Dogs had Mbye and Grub in the halves. Neither was an organising half and they both sturggled to take ownership of the team.

Geesus if this Wighton rumour is true .. I reckon Wighton would be a perfect piece to the puzzle that we need to complete .. if we can convert him back into a centre, he'd be the perfect partner for Esan .. or if our 5/8 problem (Reynolds/Marshall) fails, we could always move Mbye back in to the halves and move Wighton back to number 1.
