Is there a halfback anywhere in your book of lists Milky? I would take Chad Townsend if he is available. Not the flashiest half around, but a Premiership winner, who knows how to steer a team and we desperately need one who can.

I think we should try and get George Burgess and/or Marty Taupo they would add some much needed size to our pack…..also Zac lomax would be a great gk to have he can play fb,wing and centres and lastly Brailey would Ofer some good completion and depth to lidde

The breaches didn't affect us as badly as you think.

I think its time to move on from Liddle and focus on another 9 as he seems to have been the next big thing for a few years now but his body keeps letting him down.. Happy to keep him a reserve but need a decent 9 for next year and 2 big aggressive guys.. Burgess and Marty T for me..
Does anyone have any inside info on if we are even looking at players ?

Assuming this list is up to date, I'd be throwing the kitchen sink at gutherson. He seems happy at Parra but everyone has a price. He is a good kicker and an upgrade on all of our options 1-5, possibly 6 too.

I'd be looking at effective and underrated props from successful clubs, like trying to lure Tatola back.

Who we keep out of the 14 we have off contract is more interesting. Is Aloiai chucking a Sue and trying to pump up his next contract? Smith, Mikaele, Lawrence, Garner are the other 4 I'd keep. 1 of Fonua or Thompson as well. I'd give Gamble a chance over coming weeks to see if he has what it takes.

I'd like to see Braden Robson given a go off the bench. Has been tried in a few positions in ISP and has always done well. Seems to have found his niche as hooker. His stats although over a small amount of games are impressive.

What’s the realistic position you would play him in?

Realistically, I'd move him to fullback and shop Mbye out.

I love all that Gutho stands for. He is a player you want in your side every game. Definitely worth more than $450k.

That’s not realistic, the Coach obviously has faith in Mbye he made him Captain. So why would the WT outlay that amount of money on a player when that positions already filled. And yes, fullback is definitely Gutho’s best position… We don’t need another utility player.

You asked so I gave you my opinion. Gutho is way better than Mbye. A true team player with attacking spark.
Gutho already has 5 try assists this year.

If we don't snag players like him, we will just keep mediocrity going with half a team of plodders.

I’ll stick with Madge on this one….With what ever monies we have left under the cap this year would be better spent on an aggressive forward.

The stats are almost the same at FB for Gutho and Mbye. Gutho has moved ahead this season but its only a few games in and Mbye is clearly a little injured. Mbye breaks more tackles while Gutho has set up others more but up until the last 3 weeks that was fairly similar.

Looking at the squad I want a lock to replace ET as I think thats our weakest position, so I would be looking for a lock, a couple of outside backs i think Jennings should be on the wing and Masters in the centres but the other 2 positions open. Also of course hooker to replace Robbie and some depth into the rest of the squad

Agreed. He would be the best fullback at our club. However he would also be the best 5/8\. I'd play him at Fb and move moses. However let's be honest gutherson will have better offers than us

Yeah agreed I think two more big boys and a winger or centre that can gk(lomax) would be fine additions to our squad.
