Can't imagine Madge and mattress guts Woods seeing eye to eye on the training paddock but maybe that's what Woods needs to get him going again.

The club can’t go back with Woods under any circumstances. He was captain and tried to bring Moses, Tedesco with him to the Dogs.
Not only that he is slow, lacks effort and has zero impact. Sharks are now getting the real Woodsy. Good luck.

everyone has different spin on those times but for me i agree, Screw Woods. Give me Moses back please

I posted at the time we would only miss Tedesco. Never rated Woods or Moses.

I thought the same at the time, and looking at the three since they left us it's pretty clear that Tedesco's career has blossomed, while Moses and Woods have done little to impress.
I suppose the only comment on Woods might be, that compared to the props we have trotted out since his departure, he would probably be a walk up start at the WT's.

I hate Moses as much as anyone but he seems to be playing alright to me. Leading the comp in try assists and kicking at 84%.

if a bloke has been shopped around by 2 clubs in 2 years theres generally a reason for it. big no to woods thanks

He's been shopped around because his contract is too big. Every club in the comp would take him for $300k a year; nobody wants him for $900k a year. Being 'unwanted' just means you're too expensive, it doesn't mean you're some sort of unplayably awful pariah.

@Madgic Is a prop masquerading as a lock. A lock is Ron Coote, John Raper, Wayne Pearce, Bing Pringle, Graham O'Grady, Jimmy Leis.

...or Jai Arrow, Paul Gallen, Josh McGuire, Sam Burgess.

Precisely my thoughts.

From what I've heard though, Woods has no real interest in coming back.

he should've never left in the first place. he was a bit of a something and now he is a nothing.....no thanks

His value has plummeted. No longer an Origin player and has played mostly off the bench. And has been expendable to both clubs he’s played at.

You reap what you sow. Suck eggs AW, it is what it is. Amen

I wish that were true of the others! Woods is the only one who hasn’t faired well since leaving. Cleary, Moses & Tedesco are all better off and Cleary and Moses dogged us far worse than Woods ever did!

Is Woods worse off though? Played for Aus and finals last year. It's not like we're kicking goals at Camp Concord.

What have Parra achieved since Moses went there...was there 1/2 a season and played finals then just avoided a spoon ..no sure things to make it this year IMO...great down hill skiing team...last week showed that...

**Knee injury may force Matulino to hang up boots**
Michael ChammasThu 25 Jul 2019, 02:58 PM

Wests Tigers prop Ben Matulino may have played his last game of rugby league as he faces the prospect of entering retirement.

NRL.com understands the knee injury the 30-year-old suffered in the club’s 27-26 victory against the Cowboys in round 14 is potentially career-ending.

Matulino hasn’t been able to return to training since the injury and there are genuine fears his NRL days are numbered.

The Wests Tigers have been struggling in the forwards and want him back on the field, however the medical advice suggests he may struggle to play again.

The RLPA is working closely with Matulino, who is guaranteed the full amount of his contract, which expires at the end of 2020.

However, if it is deemed he has suffered a career-ending injury, the Tigers may have his contract - believed to be upwards of around $600,000 next year - excluded from the salary cap.

The NRL is aware of the situation and will need to be convinced the injury isn’t chronic and has been the result of a career-ending injury for Matulino’s contract to be wiped from the cap.

Matulino has played 248 NRL games since his Telstra Premiership debut for the Warriors in 2008, joining the Tigers last season under former coach Ivan Cleary.

Prior to his knee injury in round 14, Matulino had played in 36 of the possible 37 games since joining the Tigers.

He’s also proven to be quite resilient throughout his career, playing in 215 of the possible 234 games since cementing a regular spot in the NRL in 2010.

While it’s unfortunate for Matulino and the Tigers, the potential retirement could allow them the opportunity to lure new players to the club.

It comes a week after Josh Reynolds was granted permission by the club to negotiate with rival teams after Benji Marshall indicated he was playing on.

The potential departure of Reynolds and retirement of Matulino could mean the Tigers head into next season with more than $1 million in the bank to sign some new faces.

Later in that article it also said that we were after billy Walters as a depth signing if Reynolds was to go.

@Tiger_Steve especially as he failed a medical at Penrith before he signed with the Tigers (supposedly).

@Tiger_Steve Watmough always had trouble with his knees and was medically retired. Be interesting to compare Matulino's situation to his. The NRL (or whoever else) has set a precedent in the Watmough case regarding knees I guess. Understand there is a lot that goes into such an assessment though....

Poor bugger, all the best in his recovery.

Shame, if it ends like this. Injuries suck no matter who it is. All the best with his recovery.

Walters catches eye of the Tigers
Still on Walters, and the Wests Tigers have shown interest in luring Kevin’s son Billy to the club next season.

Walters is off contract with the Storm at the end of the year and the Tigers have discussed the option of signing him to add depth to their halves if Reynolds was to find a new home.

All the best to Ben but I recall a thread here some time ago that Cleary forced through the signings of Matulino, Reynolds and Packer without medical clearances. If that is the case, WT are sure paying the price. Also, if the case- Pascoe should be crucified by the Board for his sign off of these contracts despite insufficient medical clearance.

Been told the Api Koroisau contract situation is "delicate"

Has two years to run with @SeaEagles but seems to have fallen behind Manase Fainu, and club will struggle to keep both on the books

Wrote two months ago Tigers had spoken about Koroisau. Should be interest out there

Except the insurance companies knocked back Parra's claim to have Watmoughh medically retired..
