We need a rebuild. Half our squad is rubbish that wouldn't even make the titans roster. We. Have. The. Poorest. Roster. In. The. League.

Each year we think adding a few new players unwanted at their clubs will solve everything. It doesn't. It's time to be brutal.

Madge and Hartigan have a tough job in front of them to get this club out of mediocrity. Here's hoping they get it right unlike the other coach who left us hanging.

There will be a rebuild but it will not happen in one offseason. At present we have a lot of cap tired up in players not in the top 17, so they have to be moved on or we have to wait for there contracts to expire. Than there has to be the right player available and suitable for our needs.

I can not see us getting ultra competitive for another two seasons. Just hope we are smart with our recruitment and have learnt a lesson from the past

Here's the thing though, Titans are proof it's not just roster it's coaching, complimentary players, confidence etc. I absolutely take your point that we have an inferior roster to the Titans... in fact on paper the Titans have a fairly handy side right across the park. Yet they are horrid.

I think we need a player like Wade Graham who is very smart and can cover a lot of positions.
Thoughts on Matt Moyland? Sharks need to lose some players and his name was mentioned. He would kill it with us.

I think Coach has done a great job with the players we have and our top 3 paid players out most of the year. All of the players he has resigned so far are players that most approve and happy with. If he can add a few of the players he wants I feel we will make the 8 next year.

He is third string at Melbourne, we could get him if we wanted, but we won't enquire, we have the great game manager Benji going around again next year

He’s not one of those guys. The Storm have him wrapped up.

Please, he is not going to get a game at the storm, they had 2 fullbacks injured today, if we wanted him, storm would let him go to play NRL, but you just keep antagonising anyone who doesn't want Benji here next year

Talks about Papenhuyzen this and AJ Brimson that, and Melbourne play their 4th in line Fullback and he goes well.
We are constantly making the wrong recruitment decisions!
This guy is 22, not a rookie. From Manly and yet Melbourne have him sheltered away up on the Sunshine Coast???
We don’t need a rebuild we need a refresh.
We’d be stupid to through any money at anyone for another couple of years, but let’s use AJ Brimson as an example and Jai Arrow. Both would cost around 1.3m for the club to sign.
What’s wrong with Philip Sami and Jai Whitbread who we could sign for a third of that. We say we have no cap space but yet we have about 5 rookies in our top 30 who will not see first grade add to that the 5 seniors that are injured or don’t suit the team and that leaves 20 positions that we have available in our squad. I’d start with the 10 I mentioned. If they don’t want to budge, push them, offer up half their salary to other clubs to get them to go. Then go to the market and sign the likes of a Nicko Hynes for about 100k plus his current salary. Are we that daft in not wanting a change?

How much do you reckon they are on? Pap and Hynes wouldn’t be on much more than minimum.

@GNR4LIFE fair point , I guess I hadn’t reminded myself about all of the new minimum wage requirement stuff they’ve put in. Still, wouldn’t we be mad not to have a crack??? They cannot keep both him and Billy Walters long term and I know that much!
