Kyle Turner’s management has reached out to Madge for 2020.

He would want to be very cheap...basically another plodder. Never averaged over 60 meters, Wayne Bennet has even picked Bayley Sironen over him this season.

Thanks for the info though, as always 🙂

I have said this 100 times and it won't happen, but I wish the NRL publicised salaries like sports in the USA do.

Turner for 100...Jennings for 100 = decent signings.

Turner for 200 and Jennings for 250 =atrocious signings.

But we never get to know, so it is hard to judge the people / coach responsible.

Tigers veteran Chris Lawrence makes extraordinary 'sacrifice' for NRL future

Off contract and facing an uncertain future, Wests Tigers veteran ***Chris Lawrence has declared he's prepared to take a pay cut to remain loyal to his beloved club beyond this NRL season.***

Having debuted for the Tigers as a 17-year-old and devoted all 14 years of his career to the joint venture, the Campbelltown junior signalled his determination to move heaven and earth to remain at Concord.

As he ventured on a lap of Leichhardt Oval after Sunday's 25-8 defeat to Cronulla, which spoiled the Tigers' finals hopes, the 30-year-old did so knowing it could be his last game for the side.

Coach Michael Maguire stated his desire for Lawrence to remain on their books, with his experience appearing especially vital given hooker Robbie Farah on Sunday hung up his boots.

However he hinted there were salary cap issues at play after it was last week reported that the club had tabled an initial bargain contract worth $100,000 before issuing an upgraded offer.

"We've spoken to Chrissy and I can only fit in (what's in) the salary cap," Maguire said.

"If players want to play to that, I want them here."

And Lawrence admitted he might have take below market value to remain loyal to the orange, black and whites.

"I want to play football, my objective is to play at the Tigers," Lawrence said.

"Both parties are going to have to take sacrifices here and there, which I've done in the past.

"If it means I'll need to do it again, I'll do it again to stay at the club I love."

Lawrence said there was a chance that Sunday's match was his last for the club but felt like he was still capable of contributing.

"There is a chance but I want to stay at the club, I'll do everything and leave no stone unturned to hopefully make that happen," Lawrence said.

"We'll let the dust settle on the year and chat to the club.

"For me, I still feel I can add to the club and help drive these young guys."

No doubt the NRL would have an in depth investigation in to this. Happens all the time but you can bet if it happens at the tigers it will be investigated.

@GNR4LIFE Jason was much worse than Ivan. Worst Wests Tigers coach ever (Lamb doesn't count)

The hate for Taylor on here far outweighs the hate for Farah. It borders on ridiculous. Its blatantly obvious that all the Farah fanboys are the ones who love to hate Taylor. But in reality he was screwed over by the useless management of the club at the time. He did get the side to 9th the same as most coaches of this club. To say he is worse than the backstabbing dog excrement that was our last coach is unbelievable.

believe it or not... i think jennings has a bit of diamond in him somewhere........

its just very hidden....

@diedpretty I'm no way near a Farah fanboy. My opinion on Farah is constant, he's a club legend who has had his controversial times. I don't love him, I don't hate him. I do, however, stand by my statement regarding Taylor. He was a useless coach and it shows in his position now as a Canterbury Cup coach. The only coach to be screwed over by useless management of the club was Mick Potter. I say Taylor is worse than Ivan purely on the fact that Ivan showed he has some coaching ability, Taylor was beyond useless!

Maybe he’s a diamond smuggler and we’re all waiting for a bowel movement?

And Grub has said himself he’d rather leave than play hooker.

Pretty sure I saw him quoted saying the opposite, that he'd play anywhere if he was picked?

Haven't seen the show myself but apparently was on one of NRL's own shows and said it sometime last week when asked.

Looks like Super League teams will be making plays for Packer and Reynolds. If we can retire Matulino medically as well, there may still be hope in 2020.

At the end of the day, who cares. Neither got better results than the other. We finished 9th under both. The only thing i will say is Cleary had an entire salary cap at his disposal. Something that Taylor and Potter can’t say they had. And look what he did with it, and look at the position we are in now. And look what he did with a side with the talent like the Panthers this year, after what he did to us. Shows how good he is.

@balmain-boy Agree. I feel uncomfortable watching this guy play with his medical history and neck brace. Tries hard but too frail looking for a forward and too slow for a back.

with Pom saying there could be more than 5 out the door this off-season, it looks as if the cleanout might come a little earlier than expected. who do we think is getting the push?

If Madge can do it, he will. I think we already all guessed that this has been the case since he started 11 months ago.
