Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

You can’t really judge any player in the lower grades.

I remember many years ago watching Brasher, Fittler, Clyde and Co believing these players were future first graders and more. It is readly apparent players possess certain qualities that will make them NRL players . Other areas may need to be worked upon by coaching staff. Hence the need for top coaches and development.

@Tigerlily Good to See the actual club has announce this... Just the norm for this club over the last year.. Our Club needs a kick up the rear end and should start to communicate to its members / fans

Well nothing on Tigers site or NRL.com as far as I can see.

Where did the actual club announce this.

No - someone said the actual club announced this - obviously not.

It was in in Courier-mail apparently.

I think rolling over memberships without any word from the club about when games will be played at home grounds, who Tigers are playing at home grounds and keeping quiet at just about everything else is a bit of a joke.

I think memberships should be rolled over when these unknowns are known. e.g.
If we have 3 games again at Leichhardt in 2020 - a Thursday night and 2 Saturday nights I wouldn't be interested.

Members need to be NOT treated like mushrooms.

Sami is a fantastic young player, people bagging this potential signing clearly havent watched him. Played fullback his whole juniours aswell.

Forum: can't coach speed, Tigers lack speed, speed is power, please buy speed

Tigers: Interested in Sami and will table offer

Forum: yeah he's fast but what else does he have?

Well written and thanks for the advice. Sami is big and fast and is exactly the type of player who will reach his potential under Maguire.

@Russell So Leichhardt is your holy grail when it suits only ! Oh dear ...

You missed the point as usual - I want to know who is playing when and where before I part with limited finances.

Speaking of the "Holy Grail" - Leichhardt Oval as you so rightly linked the two is a Sunday afternoon venue.

I was there for the three games this year - does not mean I have to like being there on a Friday and Saturday in the winters cold though - does it?

@pawsandclaws1 Moylan is a class player .. obviously atm he is not in a good place , in saying that these things change that’s life. Saying the club could do better well I would rate him at his best above anything this club has atm from 7 to 1 . Whether he wants to come good is the question these things do happen. He would come with a stipend from the Sharks so you would think to take a chance .

There is no doubt Moylan is streets ahead of most of our players, it is his injuries that concern me, especially his hammies, if he could stay on the field he is better than both our 1 and 6

If you can pick moylan up with the sharks chipping in for the life of his contract you do it. The dude is very very good.

targets for 2021:
- Jai Arrow
- AJ Brimson
- Matt Moylan
- Philip Sami
- Matt Prior
- Lomax

probably for some of these names listed there isn't much in it, but if we can jab most of these blokes for 2021, we will be in a very good spot. We need more starch up front though, not the biggest fan of prior and is getting old now so maybe look elsewhere.

Stipend or no stipend he is still a bellend.

@Madge This list of players really worries me and shows that we have learnt little from our recent recruitment problems. Three of those players are in the team that has come last, and we will likely need to pay them overs to move interstate. Pryor is past it, he might have a good year or two left but with age comes increase risk of injury.

I would be happy with one or two of these guys, but feel like we should be raiding state cup for the Dragons, Roosters and Raiders and Queensland cup. Surely there are great players in the Storm and Roosters system that are years away from forcing their way into First Grade given the quality of players they are behind. Our best advantage is that we can offer First Grade NRL positions in 12-24 months if not sooner, and the ability to play under Madge.

I’d rather Curtis Scott if we are going players that are questionable. Hamstring injuries, inability to get in physical shape, known party animal. Most in Madge like signing I could think of.

At his best he is excellent but he’s too experienced to change his ways.

Well and good, it is his brain that concerns me.
