@balmain-boy I agree. What I struggle with a bit is that with some of our young talent coming through, we can see they need more time but I think we could support them a bit better.

I realise there are only so many development contracts but we seem to hand them out to the next lot coming through in the hope they will be the goods and leave the ones we already have behind. Some take the opportunity with both hands but there are those who don’t always produce for whatever reason (living off reputation etc) and haven’t had to really fight for it.

We wonder then why the ones showing potential but have the will to succeed get snapped up.

Having been to most Flegg games last year and this year, looked at highlight clips from the net etc, how somebody like Felix Smith, Lee Silva, Scolari and others aren’t being encouraged coming through is puzzling. They have talent and even the mongrel but most importantly the will to succeed so we should be taking these things into account when deciding who needs more development support.

Hell, we might even have a better chance to hang onto them!

I suspect all these young talented players will be part of the preseason squad. Those that impress most might even stay on through the summer. If players impress they could be promoted to development or nrl contracts. Especially if the likes of current squad fillers like McIntyre and Smith are moved on

Good post BB. We need the younger players being exposed to Maguire and his training methods. It is also good for established players to have to compete. A young winger on more moderate contract could make things interesting for David Nofoaluma.

Not nofo.... jennings

Yes Nofo. Competition against a young winger with pace , drive, can defend and a will to succeed is a great outcome.

Just a coincidence that news is running the story of the split between Burgess and his wife. Remember there were suggestions Burgess had asked for a release to return to the UK.

@Fletch If MBye is going to play in the halves you don’t wait til 2021 to move him there. You move him there next year and Benji will have to be back up like he signed for

Absolutely not - give Jennings away for nothing to the first club that would take him.

Probably the Gulargambone jets under 16's - that maybe his standard. With a population of 400 it would give him a good chance of making the team, all he has to do is lie about his age.

@jrtiger to us? I've read that Souths are trying to get him but would be a decent pick up.

going to sound pretty far fetched, but on St Helens forums and a couple of Super League supporter groups on Facebook a few people are saying he's heading our way. was hoping someone in the know could clarify.

Luke Thompson - 38 year old NZ rugby player, playing for Japan.
Rumour: will sign a 4 year deal with WestsTigers at 3.8mill over 4 years. Then to be given ambassadorial role promoting RL in Chatswood, Hurstville and Eastwood
Or that’s what I’ve heard...

He’s a weapon strong prop who rips in. Very Un Tigerlike signing. We like Ryan O’Hara, Jason Cayless, Packer types.

Dont think its been mentioned today, but Musgrove appeared in court today. Anyone know if found not guilty he will be in plans for next year?

His coach Justin Holbrook rates him the best prop in the world he is 24 185 cm & 106kg a huge man if we could get him WOW

He'd be one of the smallest props in the nrl so you'd want him to have a hell of a lot of mongrel. Easily the smallest prop in our team. Never seen him play though. If he's like Gallen then could be a great pick up

Taller and heavier than Gallen.

@balmain-boy - I have been singing this guys praises for a while now. He just won the Harry Sutherland Medal in the SL GF on the weekend (our Clive Churchill equivalent). He played for 70min straight at Prop making 188m and 42 tackles. This guy could transform our team. He is aggressive in the tackle and runs with determination. Top of the signings for me is this guy and what a coup it would it be.
