Can't say much at the moment but Wests Tigers/Magpies are about to get bent over big time. Story to follow.


Hmmm, fairly sure he is the Macarthur area reporter who broke the Matterson story? Sounds bad.

One of the first from memory. Wording of the tweet doesn't sound good. Guess we'll know soon enough.
Read through the replies and he's ruled out issue with CSS and being punted/relocated.

He never ruled out being relocated ( even though that is highly unlikely). He ruled out anything to do with Campbelltown or any NRL player. Its interesting that he has lumbered WT and the magpies together so i'm guessing its something revolving around that association. The common denominator in WT and the Magpies is Wests Ashfield. Maybe Wests Ashfield might be dumping Wests Magpies in 2021 to accommodate Fiji as a feeder club. Maybe Wests Ashfield are considering selling the licence. Wait and see - the guy is a Campbelltown tragic so i'm guessing if there is anything it will impact the Magpies more so than WT.

And probably a fanatic. Let’s be honest, it doesn’t take much at all for them to have a cry about something.

I don't personally get it. Wests withdraw from Ron Massey but continue to fund all other Magpies juniors.

So the people left in the cold are the Massey-grade footballers? Because anyone good will go from Wests juniors into their selected club's reserve or first grade sides.

Personally I am not so sure about the value of these alignments. E.g. it's great and all to have the Rams, Eagles or Holy Cross long-term aligned to the geographical club, but in reality the best kids go where the best offers are.

For example I am sure there are a list of Eagles players that have played for clubs other than Magpies / Tigers, same as for Keebra Park, St Gregs or any other junior team.

Not ground breaking news, but nonetheless, not good for a junior club wanting to break ties. Wests made a decision to embrace the region long ago and brought it as part joint venture process, so for mine it is an important part of WT, just as Balmain is, despite the collapse of the league's club.

All I know about the guy was that he had a meltdown on twitter over having to pay for a ticket to the Womens Origin Game because he think's he's a well known rugby league identity that shouldnt have to pay to get into games

That's a good article on the pathways to WT. The list of Wests Junior Reps since the joint venture who have gone on to NRL and higher was pretty poor considering the supposed nursery we have there. The number of players was ok but the calibre other than a couple of notable exceptions was less than what I expected.

Haha, complain when a junior club walks away but then play the "don't you know who I am" card when asked to pay to get into a game. That's the problem with Twitter/Facebook/Instagram, turns nobodies with a high opinion of themselves into pseudo-celebrities. On par with the travel bloggers who beg hotels to let them stay for free in return for "exposure."

I also note that his tweet has a shot at Phil for his comment, but he can't substantiate where he's wrong apart from saying "that's a real reply."
