If we want a new fullback, Brimson @ 500K is better than Latrell at 1M. Latrell would be worth it at 800K, maybe even 900K (risky), but no way is he a million dollar player.

If you're paying 900k what's that extra 100k? might as well flick it at him

100k could be the difference in retaining some of our lower and mid-tier players. Guys like Alex Twal, Luke Garner and Thomas Mikaele are on peanuts now, but will command more money in their next contract.

Ordinarily I'd agree with this logic but keep in mind in 2021 we have MILLIONS in deadwood coming off the books and that $100K-$200K will be made up pretty easily.

Consider the opportunity cost if we dont get him. If we missed out on him for $ 100K a year against the opportunity to draw players here, plus goal kicking etc.

People are talking of a $300K difference between Brimson & Mitchell. I can see that kind of value in goal kicking and drawing other players easily.

Latrell may not be worth $900k+ to the Roosters, but he is worth that to us.

If you go on YouTube and look up "Brad Takairangi Locker Room" he explains a bit about what happened. You'd have to dig through the interview, as it's long, but it's kind of messed up what we did to him.

@851 Can anyone tell me if the 10day cooling off period still applies and in which circumstances. If it does than Nov 11 becomes important.

They got rid of it not long after the Josh Reynolds contract I believe. Not sure why they did that as I thought it was a pretty good system.
