@teddy23 Agree Brown certainly can play ... sometimes posters should actually watch a player a few times at least to gauge there potential.Brooks has been showing potential for 6 seasons now hopefully it will show soon ?

You never miss a chance do you? Brooks must have stolen your last dollar I reckon

When my favourite player actually takes control of a game regularly like all top shelf halves do ,he will have reached his potential..another aspect is Brookses defence was excellent last season .. it’s just criticism of a certain aspect of his game .

Wow - we may have some agreement re Brooks. I actually think he is MUCH better playing eyes up footy and running the ball. I really don’t think he is a natural organising half. I’ll add that I wouldn’t swap him for many.

To all you Brooks bashers out there he has improved outa sight and with Robbie now gone he should be able to take control of the team, also his defence is first class he would rate in the top 5 defensive halves in the comp we have him for the next 3 to 4 years so suck it up and get behind the kid at least he is LOYAL and we all should remember that no I'm not related to him I just admire what he has done since coming in to 1st grade.

Hope you’re not referring to my post. I’m a massive Brooks fan.

@851 Don't think we'll be giving up on Liddle just yet. He's due back in the early rounds of 2020. I'm afraid one more lengthy injury and it'll be time for him to go sorry to say

I’d be giving up now, sorry to say. There comes a point where you have to cash your chips in. 2020 is already a write off. Even if he does get on the field, he’ll be finding his feet, yet again. By 2021, it will be 5 years since he debuted, and we’ll still be talking about potential. Time to unleash Simpkin in 2021 and see what he’s got.

@Russell We are not buying groceries, we are purchasing the near future of our club, if it works out and he comes then our world changes if he can deliver the game we all know he's got. I would have thought that's what we all want.

Not sure what you are on about, but this is a $1m/year contract and he is still twiddling his thumbs going to see the Titans, who have said, they don't have the cash and wont guarantee what position they have for him. We have.

If he's coming (I hope he does) he has some work to do (he is not a journeyman player) and fishing with the family is not one of them, but again, I see nothing wrong in trying to determine his interest by putting a deadline on a decision.

So lets play this out... he is 22 and has a young family. He has won everything already - comps back to back, state of origin back to back and played for his country.

He has nothing to prove.

This is the biggest deal he will sign, he has the national coach showing interest and a lifestyle option up north that he can associate with.

LM has also basically played and trained non stop for close to 2yrs and finally decides to take a holiday with his family.

Our club doesn’t have alot of power here - cool offer overs but for what? Move away from winning everything to high risk work harder to maybe win half as much over the next 2yrs??

He owes us nothing at all, doesn’t even owe us any gratitude or respect. But he is interested at the very least for talks to have happened - that is a hell of alot more than what most players who have achieved half of what he has, has done. We aren’t leaking anymore as a club and people are getting frustrated.

I get people are frustrated because they get excited about the prospect and want this to happen & nothing is coming from formal channels mixed with 1000 people guessing - but this is a massive decision for LM and his family which normally would take months & we are just 2 weeks in...

And that is what we should be pushing. Our point if difference. You have worked hard
And trained hard....come here and you can knock off first week of September. Sign for the tigers and you would be bloody unlucky to have to play week one of the finals.
In most other industries we work be a preferred employer. Paid well with extra holidays others don't have

How many millions are we throwing at Semi...?

Fijians live for Rugby. I doubt we'll see him back.

@Cultured_Bogan Yep, I bet there's a billboard with him on it outside the airport.

Is that part of the Beattie/Greenberg inspired NRL billboard strategy?
Sorry - couldn’t resist.

Oh, is there any data available as evidence as to the effectiveness of that brainwave . Sorry again.

@Elderslie_Tiger - come on- so called supporters? People can have differing opinions about players and their pros and cons without the label ''so called supporters''.

Blind loyalty, like hell.

@Tiger_Steve When I was last in Fiji, admittedly a long time ago, evidence was everywhere of the Fijian obsession with Rugby and League. Posters, billboards, busses, pubs. I happened to be wearing my WT cap when our hotel transfer bus picked us up at the airport. The driver immediately warmed to me and told me that Wests Tigers were playing that night and it would be on telly at the hotel bar. He was right, but we lost.

Lol - pick a fault with somebody's favourite player and you are automatically a 'so called supporter'.

My post was referring to the absurd decision to post a billboard outside the NFL grand final in America. I haven’t let it go unfortunately!!

As for a Fiji - I lived in PNG for 6 years and rugby league is a religion there. I imagine Fiji is similar

@Dyloh thats most hookers these days. Honestly thw re are 20 forward passes in every game from the dummy half. Refs let them get away with it.

In defence to Liddle, Brooks has overran him often when he gets the ball from dummy half.

Jake simpkins? That young hooker we hot will be the future. The kid can play.

Has any one been down to training to see how Simpkin is going? I have heard its him and Billy Walters sharing dummy half at training.
