Are you blokes the full quid this chat literally gets dumber by the minute. I hate being nasty but i literally cant handle the dribble. Tedesco on his way to being the best fullback in the world, paps a skinny kid with speed. You invest i teddy you hope he stays. Hindsight is a wonderful thing. There is zero teams in any from of rugby league that dont side with teddy. Paps did the right thing by him and saw a young superstar infront of him so choose to move as you would. Ffs stop blaming the club for that.

The fox was unproven had speed however wasnt great under the high ball and a week defender. Yes it hurt to see what he has become and yes we missed one but whinging about it won't bring him back.

Taupau disliked the coach sucks to be us.

Matterson was a grub again sucks to be us. We did the right thing though and let him go. You cant hold clubs ransom it doesn't work in this environment the players and managers rule the roost. That is slowly changing. Nearly every team that has a player want to leave has to let the player go. It actually comes down to the quality of the bloke and matto was ordinary,Moses was ordinary etc.

Start looking forward please. We have signed young talent we have missed on stars but really its on the club now to prove to the talent that we are worth coming to.
Madge has been here 1 year yes the last 8 have been painful but we need to give him his time to adjust and so far it looks positive.
Pascoe is doing ok, I understand the criticisms of him and that is worth debating moving forward.

This rant is over but stop digging up the past unless it has legit been talked about in 1000 pages of this thread and it still boring

As soon as I read hindsight and hope, I stopped reading. Hindsight and hope has got us where we are today. How about we adopt a professional approach for a change?

So being professional was letting teddy go for an unproven skinny kid. Lol.

Teddy wasn’t let go.

Paps was gone well before Teddy became a flight risk.

That aside at the time it happened we weren’t professional and right now still have alot of work to become professional. A successful professional work place keeps the best talent.

I know he wasn't mate just asking what the professional play was keep teddy or invest in paps and let teddy go

Tedesco was gone. He previously shown his true nature, why didn't they believe him?

Securing Papenhuyzpn was the smart play. We know he was slight but he is tough. That reminds me of Thurston. Hey, didn't we overlook him too for being skinny? We can really pick them.

We tried to keep Papenhuyzen and he CHOSE TO LEAVE, just like Tedesco. We’ve been through this before.

No club would ever let Teddy go willingly. He left because it was the right thing for his career and who could argue otherwise. We screwed up, and to suggest he has a character flaw because he made the best decision for himself, would mean we have learnt nothing at all about what is required to sign and retain great players.

The true irony is these posters keep demanding Tigers "become more professional", and yet it is totally unprofessional to lament decisions of the past made by yourself or previous management.

In business, that's the exact definition of unprofessional, of living in the past - past glories, past failures. That's what keeps some rugby league teams down and what keeps cretins, cronies and has-beens on club boards.

By all means, challenge the club to be increasingly professional, astute and canny, but don't simultaneously whinge about decisions made years and years ago. If the club is supposed to be looking forward, so should we.

I'm with you hodgo, if someone mentions losing Papenhuyzen or JAC again, I might just neck myself.

Why did Souffs let Addo-Carr go to the Sharpies who in turn let him come to us I’ll never know

JAC's first two junior clubs were Doonside Roos and Earlwood Saints, so I suppose we'll have to say that Panthers and Dragons let JAC go as well.

I agree with Tigerblam. It’s a bit hard to follow what your actual stance is, mainly cos it’s terribly worded. Would have been easier to say non Tigers and Souths players. There’s a lot of mental gymnastics involved in deciphering the way you wrote that sentence.

As I said I apologize for the lack of punctuation just feel that my post is far from the worst in terms of grammar and punctuation on this forum but I'll cop it sweet, no dramas.

It certainly wasn't as bad as some say

I had to read it a 2nd and understood than what you were saying

People just need to break it down a bit

Plenty on here write there posts same way as you and they have to be read a couple of times to get what is written

Problem is it only takes one reply to question your post and than othes flock in and than you cop it from all sides

Appreciate the info mate

Just hope not too many players feel that way about Madge

The tigers players that re signed under Madge need to get word out that Madge is a good guy before scum like matto do

Yeah, don't know what the hullabaloo was about. Sure, @Dyloh could have added a comma or two, even made two sentences. Still, the word "until" in the original post was enough for it to be reasonably understood and thoughts separated.

I think the build up to the 2020 season is a hard one for Tigers fans because we have money in the kitty and desperately want success - sick of being the butt of jokes when out for a beer with the fellas. We need to be patient. We are on the right path. We are pushing s*@t uphill compared to the glamour clubs. We are though, moving in the right direction. 2-3 established players in needed positions and we are 'top 8' bound. Unfortunately this mightn't occur in 2020 but we are literally maximum a year away in my opinion from becoming a contender....

Seems to be what we say every year!

Surely you feel that the next couple of years will be different? We had hacks in our high level ranks previously (for a long period). Get a sense its going to be tough as Madge won't pay overs which is what players expect from the Tigers but we are building a stable foundation which includes players who want to be at the club and believe in its long term viability and success.

Why would I think that when our top 30 roster has moved backwards since last season? The club has shown no reason to see that saying next year will be better is any more accurate then the last 8 years we have said it.

Some times its not about the top 30, its about the over all squad and over all i think we are stronger. The good coach is building from the ground up. Its been a long long time since we have had juniors to be confident about and a coach who is in it for the long term.

I do understand that and we have signed some promising juniors, the last time we had a good batch of juniors they all left once established. They were juniors who had been in our system for a long time so why should we be confident that these new juniors who have spent a lot less time in our systems will decide to stay once established?

Even when we had that good crop of juniors (our very own big 4) we still didn't make the 8!

I don't think it is too much to ask for an improved top 30 roster for this upcoming season, especially when a lot of decrease in our roster came from us releasing players which seems to have done with no solid plan for replacing those players!

Matterson was real good granted but imo Lucy will be a huge get for us we have enough workman like forwards. And your international centre was ordinary, and will be replace by our injured soo centre and our future centres.
