I don't see Souths picking up any of the freight for Doueihi unfortunately. hopefully this "we don't pay overs" mentality doesn't cost us a player of Adam's calibre.

Doueihi would have had some of his current year contract already covered by South's would he not have? Surely that would get taken into consideration by WT for signing him...

Latrell M was paid $117k by the Roosters so far this year for his contract according to reports. That's a decent amount of the annual sum - could be 20-30%

Good point, Nov, Dec, and part of Jan paid, thats maybe 25%...

Edit: So if he is on $500k, $125 is already paid. $375 would be alright and thats with Souths paying no more.

Then you free up cap space for South's to go chasing JAC, smart move.

Exactly. Pascoe is not in a position of power. Everyone knows that. He needs to just sign the guy. Bring Stefano over and all of sudden we’re looking like a team that could do something.

I’m dead serious and I don’t consider it to be overs. I think paying $500k for a guy who’s going to be your fullback is not over the top at all. I was a big fan of his last year and I think he’s a future star.

We have a mil left and we’re 8 weeks out. If you have to spend an extra 100k to get him just do it. Benefit outweighs the cost imo. Even if we get him and Stefano comes over we’ll still we way under.

Reading all the posts on here it looks like Pascoe and Madge will never win
Everyone has such different opinions about how our club handles things and who we should or shouldn't sign
Mention Latrell and 50% wanted him and 50% didn't
Or close enough to
Mention Doueihi and a similar result occurs
I for one would love Doueihi here at our club
AJ 50/50
At the end of the day we all want success at our club including management
God knows they cop their share of criticism for the lack of success
At the end of the day it's the players we have that ultimately win or loose us games
Wether it's dropped balls, forward passes, off side penalties, missed tackles, bad reads, kicking out on the full, missing a conversion it's the players and not management that make these mistakes
Then you have a bad call from a ref that can and has cost us a game
Just look what happened to the Raiders in the grand final
Point is it's not just one area of cause for not making finals
We need more discipline in our game and yeas one or 2 more class players
Here's to 20/20

I dont disagree with any of this,,,but.........we bought Mbye to be fullback as well, now we have debate of whether he is going to be 9, 4 or 14 on more than $750K.

Im worried the same will happen with Doueihi.

No not in this instance. We have more to lose than they do. And for what is essentially 1% of the cap it’s not worth risking it. 100k here or there in 2020 will not affect us either way and it’s not worth losing him over.
