if Doueihi is going to cost us $350k given Souths are chipping in, give him $550k for next year and give him $500k for the remaining 2 years of the contract, with an option in our favour for 2024.

this kid stood up in all of Souths' finals games in a position he's not used to. if Madge, Hartigan and Pascoe miss out on him in favour of persisting with a winger at the back we are in serious trouble.

4 of his 30 games were at Centre or wing

Has never played 5/8 in first grade.

He was coming back from an ACL and is 20 years old. Remember when Tedesco played wing for us when he came back from injury? They fit him in the team where they needed him and then he CEMENTED the fullback spot through excellent play.

Played 15 first grade games before doing his ACL. ZERO at 5/8, 1 at Fullback.

This is the guy you want to discuss in the same breath as Tedesco and throw $2.4M at over 4 years?

He was coming back from an ACL and is 20 years old. Remember when Tedesco played wing for us when he came back from injury? They fit him in the team where they needed him and then he CEMENTED the fullback spot through excellent play.


Played 15 first grade games before doing his ACL. ZERO at 5/8, 1 at Fullback.

This is the guy you want to discuss in the same breath as Tedesco and throw $2.4M at over 4 years?

At best AD is a minor upgrade on CT at full back. AD adds a ball playing option and a kicking option. CT is a superior ball runner and defender (based on tackles missed).

If AD wants $600k next year and a four year deal, then I can understand why we have walked away.

Read yesterday that you have a 25% greater chance of doing an ACL on the other knee coming back from one.

Added to this the fact AD is yet to est himself as either a FB or 5/8, I'm happy with the Tigers approach.

You think he is our 5/8, but neither Wayne Bennett nor Siebold ever played him at 5/8. He has played EVER backline position other than (his best position?) 5/8 and most of his games from the bench or fullback. That pretty much SCREAMS utility to me.
