hearing billy walters is training well at 9

He’s built better for hooker compares to Reynolds and Mbye. A bit shorter and stockier and a good defender. Not sure how his passing off the ground and running is but maybe he gets a spot on the bench.

Mbye killed it at fullback for us when he first joined the club, he was one of the best for those 9 games. Don’t know why he struggled there last year but I rated him at centre, strong in defence, ran hard, good passing and hits holes.

I hope the Grant deal happens so he’s not stuck in another new position at hooker

I doubt he get stuck there now that Reynolds has a green light.

We are in big trouble if JR is our starting no nine, his D/H service is terrible

Is Reynolds the starting 9? Where did you hear that?

Apparently it’s where he’s been training.

Oh, ok, so josh is the replacement if Grant doesn’t make it

I don’t think Grant is a certain starter if he signs.

You would have to think he would be starting after settling in. Otherwise the whole swap deal is a waste of time. Can't see WT going through that process to run him around with the magpies. He may as well stay in Melbourne and play with their reggies.

Mbye starts at hooker Talau and Leilua in centres and Grant coming off the bench

I wonder where Reynolds fits in.

If Reynolds is fit he should be playing 5/8 thats what his contract money was for ! The issue should be where will Benji play...

You could say the same about Packer and McQueen... but it doesn't mean anything.

100%. If Benji is doing a better job well he gets first pick. Starting Grub on that principle is a sunk cost fallacy.

Reynolds fitness is abysmal. He only plays into eh 17 if there are injuries. I know a out his salary but you can blame Cleary and Pascoe for that mess

It's abysmal because his hamstrings don't last 60 minutes.

Yes but I also think he burns himself out pregame and the early stages. Trying to hard which isn't a bad thing but when you have injuries and a lack of Gametime it's no good.

Unfortunately I think Reynolds has built his whole career on that "High Energy" maximum effort game to overcome lack of skills and innate talent.

As he ages, this is not going to get easier.

It wont get easier while he is trying too hard. All about him playing within himself for a bit and letting it play out. Hard when you are so much money and not a starter though. The pressure can get to him. This domestic violence thing wont help.

Really is on Josh to stay patient and relaxed now.

The Cronulla Sharks are on a collision course with champion centre Josh Morris, who has asked for an immediate release to join back-to-back premiers the Sydney Roosters.

Despite the Sharks denying a request from Morris to join his brother Brett at the Roosters, Fox Sports understands the former Test and Origin flyer intends to continue to push for out of Cronulla.

Aside from wanting to reunite with twin brother Brett in the twilight of their careers at the Roosters, Morris also wants to finish his career in the centres.

The Sharks are in a tough position over the ongoing problem of $900,000 outside back Josh Dugan and can ill-afford to let an experienced star like Morris walk away from the club.

But given Cronulla splashed out to bring Jesse Ramien back to the club to play in the centres on a four year deal, there is clearly two sides to this story.

It’s understood Josh Morris wants to finish his career in the centres. Picture: Jason McCawleySource: Getty Images

With Ramien at right centre and young gun Bronson Xerri on the left, Morris has been forced to the wing unless there is an injury or suspension.

At 33, Morris no longer sees himself as a winger and wants to finish his career alongside twin brother Brett at the Sydney Roosters.

The issue is bound to spark another round of unwanted headlines for the Sharks as coach John Morris attempts to drive the high standards required of his playing roster.

Sharks coach Morris and Josh Morris have discussed the reasons for the release request face-to-face, but are clearly on different pages in terms of the situation.

It’s an extremely tough scenario for the Sharks rookie coach, who only recently retired himself and is trying to set the high standards required to keep Cronulla in finals contention.

Aside from inheriting a roster still suffering from salary cap punishments this season, Morris is also trying to balance a roster which was left in a difficult situation.

The Roosters want Morris to fill the left centre position made vacant by the departure of Latrell Mitchell.

The back-to-back premiers initially planned for Billy Smith to get first crack at the spot before the young gun sustained an ACL injury at training last month.

The Roosters plan is to play Josh Morris at left centre, which is his preferred position

Lol at those believing ETs listing as 190cm.

Liddle listed as 183cm by the way.
