Feel particularly sorry for Harry Grant after all the indecision around him coming to Sydney to play NRL, the day after he finally gets here, the season is suspended.

He must’ve known it was coming. If the season does start back in June it’s probably a good thing for us he can train more with the team. If the season doesn’t happen then it’s a big waste of time for everybody

There's no team training at the moment

Obviously, but they’ll be training together a few weeks before the season starts back up which is better than him jumping straight in for round 3

Ah yeah, this situation is waaaaaaay much better.

Who are these people writing off Latrell, DWZ, Lomax after 2 games. Far too early to make the call. No they aren't playing well just now but DWZ was played very well back end of 2019.

Form temporary, as they say. I'm not saying Latrell is going to dramatically turn it around, world-beater, but if the NRL plays on to the finals and Souths are present, I wouldn't be so fast to suggest now that Latrell wouldn't be a factor.

I just don't see what others see in DWZ ...really over rated ....fair weather footballer looks good when your winning by 40

He takes great hit ups and runs really hard he is a great winger but not a decent fullback he has no ballplaying skills

Maybe don't start a reply to someone's post with the word 'obviously'. Straight t away it sounds like a smart arse response and will draw a similar response.
Chill dude.

Are Knights the new Roosters? Jr Jr, Klemmer, Ponga, Frizell all rep-level players coerced into club-swapping, that costs a fortune to do.

I was hoping we would have a shot at Frizell- he would add the experience and leadership our pack needs. Also we are one quality edge player short to keep our starting pack honest. Looks like the Knights get another good one - they have rebuilt well you would have to say.

Agreed.

I was weighing up our signings. It seemed that we opted for Backs instead of forwards and second rowers.
While I think BJ Leilua is a good (or maybe good, lets see) signing. Doulei shows potential.... How are they going to play to their peak if we don't have a first rate forward pack. If you get beaten in the front, your backs have to defend a lot and it's up to their brilliance to win games.. aka why we come 9th.

Surprised the Knights had the cash for Frizzle. Surprised he is leaving St George and kind of doubting this roumer.
Then again Forwards don't want to be pummeled. You have Klemmer, Guerra and Saififi around you it's probably better then Merrin and the rest. Guessing Frizzle likes the coach from rep duties. Something is odd about the Knights cap for sure.

The big question for us is do we build our forward pack and trust backs to click or do we build our backline and trust our forwards to click. McGuire has decided to buy our banks, maybe rightly so (I remember Manly selling Watmough and their forward pack but still doing ok. Lyon and Matai getting close to the glue factory but still winning games). Without a great forward pack we won't be moving too far up the ladder.

No. The Roosters win multiple gf’s doing that. Newcastle don’t even make the 8.

Dragons are the new Tigers. Letting go all of their best players to sign guys who are about to retire or journeyman rejects from other clubs.

Has there anything officially released by either Club or is it a Daily Tele understands sort of thing...

As far as I know all player movements have been suspended pending the outcome of the CV and what the Salary Caps will look like after it all...

From Brent Read last night.

Tyson Frizell has tonight informed St George Illawarra he is joining Newcastle next season. Will he confirmed by both clubs in morning. Contract as I understand has not been registered due to nrl guidelines in wake of coronavirus. But it is a done deal

Assuming that we actually see some football in the coming months....... I believe that the first steps in reshaping our squad into one that could compete in the top half of the comp started this season. We have taken a big leap in the right direction for sure, however it is absolutely essential that we perform on the field this season and look like a club that is focused and heading to a title. We have further roster reshaping to do at the end if this year but we wont attract the right players if we aren’t winning respect for our club.

Sounds like Newcastle has signed Tyson Fritzell.

Yeah 3 years /2.1mil

With players salaries about to nosedive he’d be crazy not to take it while he can.
Latrell, on the other hand, may be regretting not signing a big money 3 year deal now.
