IMO $800k isn't overs for Bateman in the current climate. Won't list too many but look at some of the players in the NRL who are getting that, if not more. Duds like Milford, Darius (maybe), Hunt, Reynolds, Cherry-Evans (not a dud but not nearly worth the $1m per season he's getting) etc. Bateman is an 80 minute workhorse who regularly breaks the line. He's as good as Fifita IMO and people are happy to throw $1m a year at Fifita no worries.

Bateman is good, but hasn’t scored many tries from his own side of halfway, stepping the fullback like a half.

Valentine Holmes ain't Garry Jack, I'd say just about every player in the comp could sidestep that turnstile.

"Most likely gonna be at the top of the game for another 10 years or more".......that is a massive IF, how many players have been touted as future Immortals after 1 or 2 seasons and disappeared altogether within 4/5 seasons? Heaps.
I remember Andrew Johns talking some bloke up 3 or so years ago, I recall him saying he was going to be the best player in the game but now I can't even remember his name. Might of been Milford?
The future of RL players is very unpredictable.
Anyways, if WT's paid $800k to snare Bateman it'd be a good purchase IMO. Swap JB for JR🤟

You can tell he’s gonna be at the top of the game for a good while bar injury. He’s 19 and barely played first grade and is producing tries from a forward that is rarely seen in first grade. Imagine how good he’ll be with more footy under his belt

Contracts that are $800k or more should be for the very elite in the game I feel. Bateman is quality, he’s consistent but he’s not a game breaker and he’s not someone you build a team around like Taumalolo, Fifita etc. that’s just my personal opinion.

IMO Bateman is as good as Fifita.

I think he is better than Fifita - Bateman is in the game for 80 minutes.

Fifita is in and out of games - rarely in there doing the hard work. "Show Poney!"

Take Bateman for 800 - hell we took Mbye for close to that.

NRL have apparently given the warriors approval to sign players from rival clubs on short term loan deals according to the telegraph.

Wouldn’t be surprised to see a few of our boys sent there for a few weeks. Keeps them fit and gives them an opportunity to earn a spot in first grade.

I agree it’s a good way to get your players some game time and see how they’re going. Warriors deserve the help too after the sacrifices they’ve made.
