Disagree myself, Momo is a much better centre than Mbye imo.

However you are entitled to yours.

imo Mbye is better in every way, including goal kicking. just my opinion though.

Well then iyo we should let Momo go.

Personally would have no issue with it. He’s a solid player but way overhyped by tigers fans, isn’t even getting a look in at Melbourne.

All depends on what happens with Mbye/if we sign another centre, then they’ll know whether to let him go.

He’s already said he signed on another year with Tigers anyway after this loan deal.

He is a true footballer and specialist centre. Give him the ball with a bit of space within the opposition quarter he can conjure up a try when many can't. He makes good ground when running the ball out due to his height and gait. He could work on his goalkicking to make himself a mandatory selection at right centre. A fast winger outside of him to complement his elusiveness would be outstanding.

Yes, I agree about Momo's footy nous. Same with AD. I'd like to see us start to load up with smart young footballers who can take us forward over the next few seasons. All the players don't have to be genius but having a some with really good smarts as well as talent goes a long way.

Yeah I'm surprised Bellamy hasn't used him yet. I think once he gets a look in down there he'll hold his spot, but he may have to wait for Brenko Lee to revert to type before he gets his chance.

lets bring two young wingers through mattheson johns or bradley etc but dont use talau use him as a centre or lets try for saab

Once again Mattheson Johns is not a winger, barely a centre.

Won't be long before he is in the back row for somebody.

Yeah, he's a solid boy with good leg drive but I wouldn't have him on the wing, he's either a hard running centre or will make the transition to backrow. We need to look at guys coming through the lower grades like Kei and Scolari as potential wingers. Not seeing anything special with Zac Cini so far, who is primarily a centre. Hoffman is a straight centre too so we either take a gamble on a young player, or buy a winger.

Reminds me of stories of the old days, when the club would recruit patrons from the local pub to come and play.

I don’t see us making any major moves this year apart from Harry Grant if Smith signs on. We have cap space at the end of next year with Reynolds and Packer coming off and 2022 Mbye comes off. We need 2-3 key signings and more young talented players.

We get the $340k odd second year of the Farah fine back for next season, which pays for an average player or tops up the wages for a really good one.

That’s a bonus. ET was upgraded by Cleary say 400k, McQueen 350k, Jennings 300k, Clark/Marshall/Smith/Lawrence/McIntyre say 500k. Eisenhuth was upgraded say 250k and Thompson 250k. If I’m anywhere close to the numbers that’s 2.390m to fill 10 positions.
Stefano was reportedly 350k which brings us to 2.040m to fill 9 spots. Assuming 5 are minimum contracts or upgrades we would be left with 4 positions and circa 1.5m in cap space.

Harry Grant if available will take up 500k of that which, would mean 3 players at 1m or 333k each.
Used wisely we should be able to get a veteran and 2 solid NRL starters next year.

The key still is offloading big contracts of Packer, Reynolds, Mbye as their salaries could buy 5 solid first graders or 2-3 Origin players.

Pretty sure Stefano is $800k over 3 years ($266k pa).

That is the way it should be with our best progressing and learning at each step. As a supporter I receive a great deal of satisfaction from our juniors succeeding.

Yeah I’m a big fan of this development player system. Not only do some of our juniors get a run but like Madge has done it’s a good way to pinch young guys from other teams too. By the time they’re in our first grade squad they’ll have trained with the team at least a year which is a big boost for them.

Kei looks an exciting prospect to me. Don't see Hoffman, Cini, Talau or Johns as a winger. Cini, Talau and Hoffman junior reps but all centres imo.

Bradley & Scolari have had only one season - there is little prospect of them getting any further chances to push their case this year although Bradley maybe, given he is a development player. He is tall but speed not so much. Scolari is smallish by winger standards these days but very quick, hard and aggressive in defence. Saab if available seems to have junior rep, size and speed and maybe the answer?

Hard to see a lot of our younger talented players who won't be getting a chance to progress due to Covid via NSWRL competitions, being offered any deals to stay at the club after this year.

It will be the same for all clubs & juniors coming through I guess but a shame that some will be lost to their existing clubs and/or the game most likely. The NSWRL seem to be stalling and/or completely lost as to what to do. Not a peep of what they are thinking - not very inspiring stakeholders of the game I'm afraid even though their hands are tied somewhat.

are you sure Sharks are not chasing a Wayne Kerr as they already have 17 of those

LOL

The club I followed in Brisbane had a Wayne Carr ...younger brother of Norm Carr who played for Qld in the early SOO days

Wayne may have played for Qld pre SOO from memory

People need to realise that there is a reason Momirovski can't get a look in at Melbourne, couldn't get a look in at the Roosters and why Madge didn't mind using him as collateral for a season....

I'll give you a hint - he's not as good as people on here make him out to be. Yeah ok he scored a couple tries last year, but if you go back and really watch those tries, nearly all of them were due to the play calling or work from the players inside of him. Having said that he is a good player, not great. Mediocrity wins you games, but not premierships.
