Not really new news - We're still sniffing around for a goal kicking winger from nth of the boarder.

Didn't i just read it somewhere that we maybe extending Harry Grant's stay for the 2021 season .. in return Storm are happy to keep Momo as they are losing both wingers for next season .. ??

One thing I will give madge is that he seems to be patient
Waiting for the right players at the right price
We need to make sure we lock down our own talent in Twal, Aloai , Garner, LL and Talau for at least the next 3 years
We dont want to loose any of these players
Doueihi is here for a while yet
Nofoaluma if he continues for the rest of this year should be offered another contract
All of our other players need to prove their worth before we open the cheque book
Those that haven't made an appearance yet also need the opportunity to prove themselves
Would be great to keep Grant for at least 1 more year

Anyone want Jack Bird for 500 000 a year? Broncs have officially said he is free to go and they will pay half.

He would be a massive upgrade on Lawry / Chee Kam...a utility forward we could throw in at center when needed.

I thought Bird was a hell of a player when he was at Cronulla, but he's had a horror run of injuries. Fully fit he'd be one of our best players, but I think even at $500k he's too much of a risk. $300k i'd be thinking about it for sure.

No way. He's a broken biscuit. His knees were already shot before he went to the Broncos and did two ACLs. He'll never be the same footballer again.

I used to play footy with jack bird, he was always a level above everyone else and some of the crap he’s dealt with injury wise you’d think how the hell does he do it. Unfortunately just a walking injury these days but fully fit he’s unstoppable

His annual cost is more than Chee Kam and Lawrence combined. I thought I read he also has debilitating arthritis. With his injury history, I would stay well away.

Considering the risk/benefit, I would not pay him more than 200K for one year contract!

It all comes down to risk/reward and it's something (in the past) we haven't done very well. Reynolds at his absolute best isn't worth anywhere near what he's been reportedly paid so there was very little chance of upside, but huge risk of downside (especially given his injury history). Paying players like Foran and Bird big salaries coming off injuries is bonkers, but if you get them cheap and they stay healthy it can have potential for huge upside.

After the supplementary money dries up we would be left with an injury prone player with Arthritis.

I think RCG’s poor form was more of a confidence thing than an ongoing debilitating injury.

yes maybe you would take a risk if you were in premiership window on short term deal but doesnt suit us

Good grief, Jack Bird is chronically injured and blew his good lifestyle with the gummies due to greed. We want their good young backs - Walsh, Staggs, Isaako.
